Hi,

I want to install sliders on my 2008 Limited V8
I want them to be bolt on with my X-reas - Ras supension

I definitely want to protect me against others doors scratch
I'm tired of people who do not pay attention

I see one on trailgear but they have 58 inches and it's too short.

most likely because the X-reas system runs along the frame right where the sliders would normally mount.
 
I know I'm not a welder or anything...but doesn't 450 bucks seem a little steep for a few bits of tube welded together? I need to just buy some tube and take it to a few of my friends who are handy with a bender and a welder. I've seen shrocks...what other alternatives are there? isn't there another thread with a bunch of alternatives? And yes with xreas you need to be careful because the hydraulic lines run along the frame rails so install will be much more tricky.
 
I know if you are doing a weld on, you need to unbolt the lines for the X-reas system to get them out of the way. it would be much cheaper to build your own if you have access to a welder and a bender. the only reason they are expensive is because it's for a newer vehicle. trail-gear sells them for the older yota's for under 200 bucks. I guess they will sell for what people are willing to pay. if they can get 500 for a set of sliders, then they will.
 
If you're willing to weld on you can order a set from Richard Stubbs (stubbswelding.com) or possibly trail gear. Stubbs already makes them for 4th gens but with trail gear you will have to ask for a custom size.

I believe my stubbs hd-skos were $360 shipped, and I think trail gear quoted me about $290-320 (shipped) for a set of their kick out sliders made the length needed for a 4th gen (70").

Removing XREAS won't make the sliders not work, the sliders just have to be built so the legs don't interfere with where the lines are run or where the canister mounts.

They will definitely keep trail debris and rocks from hitting the doors or rocker panels, I have had all the weight of my 4runner on my sliders many times. They'll also protect against some other car door scratches, but it really depends on the height and angle of the door being opened. I got hit by an s-10 backing out of a spot once and it just left a green pinstripe on my slider but gouged the heck out of his rear quarter panel.

can I purchase item to be bolt on or it's impossible ??


I don't want to remove all my X-reas to fit them ...

if I install bolt-on sliders do I need to remove all x-reas line and replace ?


shockwocks it's a good value for the money ?

I see CBI sliders bolt-on , they are good ?

I have a 2008 limited v8 and I don't think welding it's a good idea ... :)

I know Stubbs hd-sko are great but I don't think it's a great idea to weld-on slider on my 2008 ... can order part to bolt on ?

they are any risk of welding if I have mount (weld slider to mount plate and mount plate weld to frame) ?
 
I have CBI sliders and have been pleased with them. They are bolt on and compatible with x-reas. They are also cheaper with a shorter wait time than Shrockworks. I would definitely recommend them and the guys at CBI.

I think the same thing that gaterose said about protection will apply to the CBI sliders and really any slider. The CBI sliders will definitely protect on the trail and, regarding other vehicles and such, it will all depend on that vehicle, it's height and how and where it hits you.
