Sliding Cargo Tray with dogs?

I know that just like everything else people's experiences and opinions are divided on the Cargo Tray. I'm not sure if I want one or not. I do have two large german shepherds though and was wondering if anyone else has used the cargo tray with large dogs in the back? I figure I could wedge it somehow so when I opened the back it wouldn't move under them as they jumped in/out and cover it with some loose laid commercial carpet just for a bit of grip but what do you who might be in this situation think?

The cargo tray has a locking lever. You should have no problems with them entering and exiting the rear.

It locks in place and has 2 locking positions when you pull the tray out. I would highly recommend it for dogs and it also protects the rear bumper from scratches when they jump in/out.

No problems. Get yourself a cover from canvasback.

Like the others stated, it locks into position so it won't slide out unless you unlatch the lever. My dog jumps in/out all the time and haven't had any issues.

I have two large GSD and have no problem whatsoever with the sliding tray. As other's have stated, get the canvasback cover and you're good to go.
