Sliding glass trim removal?

I'm trying to remove the black trim on the sliding side windows on my '87. I found a post where a guy wanted to remove the glass in order to have them tinted, (which requires the removal of the entire side window assembly), but wondered if I need to remove the entire thing to remove that trim piece.

YES .. you need to remove the widow , in order to remove the L trim

Good information, and great illustrations. My trim is good enough to save, but a buddy of mine has an '88 and he's been looking for a set. I'll show him the glass replacements.

Ive got some trim on a rolled over top as well. Might not be cost effective to the fiberglass repop but mines for sale. reasonable

Where are you located, and where can pictures of the trim be seen? I'll be glad to pass it on to my buddy.
