Slight buzzing from brake pedal at red light

Hello members,
I noticed something strange last night while driving and am wondering if I can get some valuable input from forum members here.
I've owned my 06 T4R V8 for about 2 weeks now. Last night while city driving, I noticed a strange vibration from the brake pedal at a stop/traffic light. From what I've observed, I don't feel the vibration during stop'n'go, but if I'm at a Red Light, the buzzing starts and then stops for about 2 seconds. Is that normal? The brakes seem to work just fine.
My vehicle hardly has 48k miles on it.

Well, its noticeable enough for me to notice it each time it kicks off. You my be right here though.
One more thing I noticed is, if I'm at a red light with the brake pedal pressed, it will start buzzing for 2 sec and then stop.....then again after 20-30 odd seconds, it will start buzzing again for couple seconds. Is that normal as well?

That sounds normal, as long as its not constantly buzzing. The system is repressurizing the accumulator. You'll notice the pump will kick on after you start the car for a min or less as well.
 
As others have said, it is normal. It is the brake booster pump, which is on the other side of the firewall.
 
Should anyone care to verify, just pop the hood and you can see and hear it vibrate.

 
I had to replace that whole unit and it is very expensive unless you get a used unit. I'm not trying to scare you.....just wanting you to be prepared cause I almost pooped myself when 2 different shops gave me their quotes. ($2600 to $3400) Just take note of how often it kicks on and for how long (This obviously depends on your driving habits and where you drive). Mine was kicking on every 10 to 20 seconds for about 7-10 seconds with the brakes depressed or not.

Awchhh...that's an expensive fix.
I don't notice any buzzing while driving. Its just that when I'm sitting at a red light, with the brake pressed, I feel the faint buzzing from the brake pedal. It goes for about 2 seconds continuously, every 20-25 odd seconds.

So, could you actually hear it going off 'while' driving as well? Because I don't notice mine, but maybe its too faint to be noticed. I do notice the buzzing while pressing the brake at a STOP light. I'm certainly hoping its normal just like M1911, BlackWorksInc mentioned. My vehicle hardly has 48k miles on it.

Did you ever notice any issue with brakes?
 
I would say your ok. Mine got more frequent very rapidly....like within 2 weeks. To answer your question yes. Mine was not holding pressure so it was going off constantly. I would even notice the headlights dim slightly while driving down the road at night when the vacuum pump was turning on every 10 or so seconds. I never noticed a difference in the brakes though.

That's normal. I've got 130k on my '03 and it has been doing that since it was new.
