Slight Coolant Loss

So a really weird thing happened yesterday. I was stopped at a gas station with the engine shut off and I heard a quiet little thud sound, then steam came out from under the hood. I checked it out and found some coolant around the back side of the engine bay near the heater core lines but none on top of the engine around the throttle body lines. Underneath there was a small puddle. Some got on the exhaust which is where most of the steam came from. Now, after that I decided to go ahead and drive it home (1 hour) and I had no issues with overheating or anything. Coolant level is exactly the same now as it was when I was at the gas station. How in the heck could it have leaked for one second and then stopped? There was no coolant around the radiator or reservoir at all.

One thing to add is that I did just install a supercharger on Saturday which is causing it to run lean because the seal in the L shaped piece is the wrong size (working on replacing that now). I don't think this could have anything to do with the coolant loss but I thought I should mention it.

Any ideas on why the coolant suddenly spewed out only for a second?

It probably stopped once all the pressure was released.

Maybe the "thud" sound was a hose or fitting coming off?

There are a bunch of heater hoses on the back of engine by the firewall. One of them could be leaking.

I had one of those hoses leak at the clamp and it would drip onto the crossover pipe and burn off (no puddle on ground). It took me awhile to figure out where it was leaking from but that was it.

They are a pain in the ass to replace (zero room) so hopefully it's something else.

Well I already have to remove the supercharger again so maybe that'll make it a little easier to see if that's the problem.

Fixed

Took the supercharger off and found that it was one of the heater core hoses. It had busted down at the bottom where it connected to the pipe on the back of the engine. It was a huge pain but I got it replaced and it's good now. I think the reason I didn't lose any more coolant was because I didn't have the heater turned on.
