any of you guys hear a slight knocking once in a while going full throttle? i know it says light knocking is normal in the manual (pg. 244) but just wondering how often/many of you hear it. thanks.

it's usually pretty smooth and i've never noticed it, but lately i've noticed the pinging really prominently. perhaps i got a bad batch of gasoline..

I have noticed the "pinging". Usually depends on where I get gas though, and what octane I use.

Slowginjoe: what’s cost per gallon out your way? I travel to San Diego a couple times a year. I always scream when I look at the gas station prices. We are paying a buck 85 for regular on the east coast. Gas has been falling lately, but it's got a long way to go to make me feel better. I have two SUV's and a car; so I spend around $ 100/week on fuel. SUX Of course half of my driving is bringing my two kids to their sport games all freaking weekend. I'll drive a few extra miles to find a good cup of Java as well.

i'm glad i'm not the only one hearing the pinging. i noticed it really bad last night. i got a full tank of regular shell gas on sunday, and with 3/4 tank left i topped it off with some supreme gasoline and it seems to be a little better in terms of the knocking. looks like it may of been some bad regular gasoline, maybe i should stick to medium grade to avoid these borderline situations. or maybe it's a sign that i should let up on the pedal a bit!
