hey all just making this thread to share and to keep up with everything that happens along the way. i have owned this 4runner for about 4 months now and i love it. i came from super low and fast cars. this is my first off road vehicle. picked up this 2000 4runner with 212,xxx miles on it and still running strong.
here she is the day i got her.

first things on my list to fix was upgrade the brakes so i picked up a set of tundra 231mm brakes

next up was a vary nice set of toytec coil overs and some adjustable UCA

next up was to make me a new grill. after reading a few threads about the satoshi grill mod i thought it would be a super easy mod so picked up a grill from the local yard and got to work.

so started by cutting it up and starting to fill all the dips and holes around the inside. i like the really clean look so a little fiber glass filler and some time

and BOOM!! all done

on the car and looking fresh.

moving on picked up a new set of tires. 285/75-16 for the stock set of wheels. and some spacers and got the stance set right. the spacers made a huge difference after the lift. not so much body roll feels more planted. also threw a CVT tent on top. i love this tent.

just a fun team work pic. only thing i dont like about m y toytec lift is the rear sag with a load. i think i need to get a higher lift for the back

beautiful truck, lots of great upgrades as well. look forward to more!

one thing tho, for the rear you can put air springs to help with the sag. i tow a trailer for my quad and it helped immensely

You made quick work of a nice setup!

Nice S14. I'm a mr2 enthusiast that recently got into my 4runner as well so I know the feeling of going from a small car to a lifted 4x4.

I'm looking forward to seeing what else you do.

ya i was looking into the rear bags that go inside the spring but the only thing im not sure of is how well do they perform for off road use. i dont do anything to to crazy but i still like to get out and test the limits. can i go full flex with them? or would i have to only have them in when i need them.

thanks it is different for sure. but i love having both options now but the 240 is not getting as much attention as it is use to.

ya there are alot around here. im down to do some wheelin for sure. i dont really know many people out here so always up for a adventure

If you're on FB - search the groups called:

.

to be honest you may have to search. i have the air shocks so i dont have the bag inside. ive used them out in the desert and flexed it out all the way all day and they never gave me any problems. i do have them over extended tho cause i have a 2.5 inch lift in the rear and i have stock length air shocks. but so far no problems

well i guess fast depends on what your use to but this is my baby. its a 240sx with a JDM 2JZ-GTE swap with single turbo.

Very very nice!! Thats still fast, even if its sliding fast. Im a huge Mitsu/Toyota/Nissan guy. Building a big turbo nitrous DSM this next summer. Its already built at 420whp. Just needs a little love on the trans. Auto swap coming.

nice! ya its built to be sliding fast for sure. it only put down 500 on 15 pounds cause my boost controller was not working. but since then i have built up the head with all high rev and titanium bits. now im working on bigger pistons and rods so i can get that number up a bit more. i would love to see 700-800

so ever since i lift my runner i have had a shaking over 50mph and a pull when i gas it and when i brake. so trying to find the issue so far i have replaced the lower control arm bushing with white line ones. and i have changed the outer tie rod ends and the lower ball joint. this didnt fix it so far.

So on tapatalk when browsing threads it shows the picture if the of the 2jz. I got really excited and thought you had lift one in your 4runner. False advertising.

I think you need to swap one on to redeem

haha it has been a idea for a bit now on swapping one in. it would just involve alot of part sourcing. but i do have a parts list made already for one day when i feel like going ham. seems like a can just boost the stock 3.4 for cheaper tho.
but on a side note went out over the weekend and did a little exploring
