Slow Sharp Turn "Slip"

I just started to notice that when I'm turning sharply and slow (Parking lot or drive-thru) the front outer tire feels like it slips or the tire is riding on the sidewall for a second. Once I turn and come off the bump stops everything feels fine again.

Is this normal?

By the way I have a v6 and this is in 2WD.

It's normal with the wheel turned that much. The rear axle "pushes" through the turn and can make that "hopping" or "slipping" sensation. It gets harder to turn when the 4WD is engaged since the transfer cases don't have the same viscous coupler or clutch pack setup like the AWD transfer cases do. I might be thinking of the FJ80's though. There's a lot of fighting movements when all 4 wheels are trying to turn at different speeds.
