Sluggish

I have had my SR5 since November 28, 2009, currently it has around 74000 miles on it. I have had the oil changed once and the tires roated once. Lately I have noticed that driving at city speeds (30-50) that I feel it's sluggish...almost like it's not shifting right. I know this has been discussed before but I had so many problems getting on the site lately that I didn't know where or how far back to look for an answer. Anyone else noticed this with theirs? If so have you found a fix for the problem? I would appreciate it if anyone has any answers.

I hope you mean 7400 miles, not 74000 miles. Although one oil change in 74000 miles would make your problem pretty obvious...
 
I don't know about sluggish but I can tell you about the "gear shifting" issue. I took mine into the dealer because my 4Runner shifted hard from 1st to 2nd gear. On the highway in overdrive, it didn't want to downshift unless I really pressed on the gas. The dealer did a "health test" by hooking the truck up to a diagnostic machine (don't know the exact name). The service guy told me that I had the latest TSB and that nothing was wrong with it. The funny thing is that my 4Runner no longer has the hard shift and the transmission is more responsive to throttle inputs. He said that they did not "reflash" my system but I'm guessing that the health test reflashed the ECM. It is day and night on how smooth my transmission is. I suggest a trip to the dealer. Mention TSB-0166-10.

Perhaps the battery was disconnected and the ecu reset as a result.

I have a 2010 4RTE, but previously I had a 2008 FJ TT (auto). The FJ and 4R transmission both behave the same as you describe. Actually, I would say the FJ was worse of the two and at times I would stomp the gas repeatedly and it would not down shift at all. My 4R has been better lately, but perhaps it's because I've been paying attention to how it shifts at various speeds and gas pedal usage.
