I acquired a 2001 Toyota 4Runner back in November 2012 with 126k on the clock. My "Heep" Grand Cherokee is now :rip: Didn't get to do much to it at first, but slowly i have been doing my research and getting together what i want to do with it and now I am actually starting my build.

As I am new to this site, most of you don't know me but I am not new to off-roading or vehicle modification. I have a strong history with electronics. I don't like to take my cars/trucks to shops because i like to learn from experience.

Here she sits shortly after i got her:

Thats an awesome list of part you have incoming!

Look forward to meeting you in Moab

Thanks bro! :thanks:

Now it is just the "it needs to get here feeling" lol Looking forward to meeting you there too. :thanks:

How do you like your CB antenna placement? I am looking at going the same location/mount but was just wondering how your preformance has been with it there. I will be running a 4' FireFly.

My CB antenna is the one big thing I regret about my build. Drilling through the quarter panel for a CB mount? What was I thinking..

If I were to put a CB into another 4runner I would either go with the Driffter mount from outdoorlogic and a 5'-6' firestik, or use that motorized antenna mount I have on my roof for my VHV/UHF radio antenna for a CB antenna instead..

hmm I have thought about ordering one of those but i guess Driffter is gonna be building more which i guess is soon but we shall see. A 6' antenna now that is on hell of an antenna but as long as i can get 2' min above the roof then i would be ok with the Driffter mount. i have just been reading that the back corner like that is a bad location, but that could all be conjecture.

How is your reach (distance) with the current setup?

Reach is fine I guess, I only use the CB on wheeling trips and we dont get very separated. Never tried to talk to someone very far away. I can hear everyone crystal clear.

Ok well that is really all it is gonna get used for anyway lol but it might get used randomly just to listen to chatter or something. I will have to do some measuring and see what one is gonna work best. If i can avoid punching holes in my rear quarter panel i would like to.

thanks again for your response btw.

Went and picked up the parts for my adjustable HD panhard bar.

Total price - 93 bucks

3/4 in Hiems w/ misalignment - 55.00
5/8 in Grade 8 bolts - 8.35
3' DOM - 24.75
Beasty PH Bar - PRICELESS

Should be welding this thing on Saturday if all goes well. ;)

Well ya know what they say start saving now lol and yeah by next year our rigs will probably look nothing like they do now. This summer hopefully a s/c will be done :)

Can you take a picture of the Bilstein 5100 9602R703 shocks out of the box??

I want to see if they come with all the bushings for the top and Bottom.

Yep will do when I get home. :)

I took them out of the box and of course they come compressed and come with two washer style bushing retainers, bushings, and the nut for it. The bottom hole has the bushings as well.

Ok so here is the picture of what comes with the 9602r703. They measure 22 1/2" from the bottom of the top bolt and center of the eye.
