Smoke Taillights--Found a place for the overlays!

Ok...so in doing some searching, I found and have already purchased SKU6377, 05 TOYOTA 4RUNNER Smoke Tail Light Film Kit for $54.95 including shipping! Remember when that guy from the 350 forum just wouldnt even respond when we asked for him to make us some? Well, I say F him! I bought this from Sticker City. I also only got the 20% film just to remove the pink of the stock taillights, but so I dont draw too much attention (since I am still a cop that is!). I will post pics when the project is done.

Cant wait to see some pics. I'm thinking about getting a set to go with my black theme on my white runner. Let us know when you get them!
 
First off---I for Arlington County.

Second-regarding the taillight overlays--they are done! One note,YOU HAVE TO STRETCH THEM SOMETHING FIERCE TO MAKE THEM FIT!. They dont cover the light housing 100%, as there is a small gap on either 'side' of the light. I made them fit so when you are looking at the back you cant see any red. The kit covered the lights and the reflectors in the bumpers. I got the 20% tint. If you get the 35%, be ready to buy brighter bulbs. Mine is almost too dark, so I might be upgrading the bulbs to some higher wattages soon. I will get some night pics tonight hopefully.

With the lights on-during the day. You can also see how I turned out my exhaust. I cut off the resonator in the back, used a "universal" hanger from Advanced Auto Parts, used a "turn down" piece of exhaust pipe, but instead made it turn the exhaust out to the side, and using my Subaru Bucks from my credit card, bought a Dodge Dakota Chrome Tip from Manassas Dodge Subaru. I little bit more growel, and it looks super clean. Not that much louder than stock.

I did it while it was on the car. My wife followed me in her car and she stated in direct sunlight she could tell which lights were on A LOT better than they way they were. She also stated they were plenty bright at night-all this coming from a woman who is so safety conscious she tells me to put on the headlights during the day! If she thinks they are fine, then I am good with it too.

Hey-for some reason the first package they sent me was damaged and showed up today. Word must have gotten back to stickercity, so they sent out another set (i.e.-I now have an extra set!)Anyone interested in buying the complete set (w/squegee and all)? Let me know. Email me at [email protected]
 
i smoked my tailights for $20 bucks. i used a spray paint called nite shades. i got it off of amazon for $15 and i bought a can of clear coat for $3. all of it comes off with laquer or paint thinner. so it isn't permanent. you can put on one coat and leave it lightly smoked to get rid of the pink, or you can og all out and make it black. i have the same results as the overlays. i had my wife follow me too. before i smoked the lights, she said it was hard for her to see the light during the day because of the glare, but now she said there is more definition to the lights.red lights in red houseing wasn;t a good decision for toyota. if you have any questions let me know - late.
