Smoked ‘06-‘09 Sport Headlight Pics

Anyone have 06-09 Sport Headlights that have Smoked Lenses. Considering slightly Smoking the Lenses instead of the BHLM when I Do my ‘03 to ‘06 Swap. Don’t want them to dark to affect light output. Just enough to Darken then a little. Any Pics would be appreciated.

smoke lens do affect light output.
black headlight mod is just painting the chrome shroud to any color you want.
anything that you apply to the lens that is not clear will affect the output.

Yeah I did the BHLM to my Current Headlights and was Wanting to maybe just do something a Little Different. Just a Very Light Smoking of the lenses Not Dark by any Means.

I save money and time and do a full retrofit. smoking lens should not be done, adding a clear film might help with oxidation.

maybe paint the inside to your favorite color and have a different look.

I initially painted the chrome of my stock headlights. Horrible decision, water would get in and make them foggy as hell. Finally found someone selling the lights that are already painted. Replaced them and they work perfectly!

Your issue, more than likely, was that you didn't properly seal them back up, or you needed to polish the lenses and apply a sealant to the outer lense post BHLM. I opened my stock ones up due to moisture/fogging up inside them, and decided to do the BLHM while I was at it. MANY other people have done the BHLM and had no issue, poising that the BHLM itself is not the cause of moisture coming in.

OP, I don't have any pictures for you, but you seem to understand how it all works. If you go through with this obviously your options are tint film, or even cheaper and easier DIY using VHT Nite Shade

here's mine, i got the oem sport ones, big difference and way better! if only they had matching fog lights...

New oem lights are only less than 450 for the set.

I Like the Sport Look way better than all the Chrome. The ones I scored are in Excellent condition. Not bad for $50.

Hard to tell from the pic, is the reflector black, or gunmetal gray? It looks gray but it could be just the lighting in the photo.
