I found the runner on Craigslist, paid $1200 for it. looked pretty good, ran great. fresh tires too! only problem was a broken fuel guage,on the Tank side... still havent figured out whats actuly wrong.:noidea:

I got bored one week end and decided to paint it Desert Tan.

then a few months later i decided to go with my original plan and paint it Silver.

Also, got rid of the super ugly Red interior, painted everything Black and made some new door panels.

I made a Bikini Top too

then this weekend I got some New Speakers and New Head Unit.
i wanted to have the rear speakers moved forward so i had to make custom panels again

Then i took some Foam and placed it behind where the speakers would be.

**Big Plans for the 4runner when i get home**stay tuned for updates.

Looks great Sam! Black interior looks sooo much better than the faded out red. I say go for the 33/10 BFG KM2s. Run em on ur stock rims and u don't even need a lift! :hat:

Thats what i heard, but i hate my Stock rims, soo ugly!:wacko: what about clearance when offroading?

Also, do you think 33x10.5s will still work on 15x8s with -19mm off set?:shrug:

Thats what i heard, but i hate my Stock rims, soo ugly!:wacko: what about clearance when offroading?

Some stock rims are uglier than others for sure. I love mine. They're 15x6" and I did the pinch-weld mod for clearance in the front wheelwells. No rubbing at all. What's the backspacing on ur 15x8s? :thumb3:

Runner looks great. Where did you get the board you used for your panels.

i got it at home depot, its 1/8'' thick "hard board" same as the factory used. for the front, but in the back i got 1/4'' because i was mounting speakers to it. but those are 1/8'' from the factory too. i would recommend getting 1/8'' for the rear because they bend out towards the front of the panel. and the right side is cut different because of the fuel tube. if you need more help with it PM me.

I do too, just don't know if they will look good on a silver truck...

Don't really care for either one of these rims. The pro-comps seem to be built better. An all black rim will definitely look better with the silver paint. If it were me, I'd hold off, save up a little more, and get some Methods. They're the shizzle! :thumb:

Those are pretty alright. I like the flat black finish, good combo with the silver.

For the pillar molding you can post in the want ads here and Yotatech. You can also try eBay. I got some for $12 there last year.

I really like what you did with the interior. No one would suspect it was that awful red.

I have a stupid question. What exactly were you using your pancake compressor for? Were you just filling your tires? I see sanding discs scattered about and you were talking about painting. You don't use a sander or paint gun with it do you? I've always heard it's not powerful enough so would like your feedback. Mine is the only power tool I have that floated around the garage in a hurricane a couple of years ago and still works great. I've only used it with flooring nails.

i tried running an orbital i borrowed from work, but it only ran for about 30secs then i had to let the tank charge back up. so it defiantly wouldn't run a paint gun, so i used Rattle Cans to paint the truck. But, I ended up getting an Electric orbital from home depot. So i would steer clear of this size compressor if your doing any sort of Body work/Painting. i would recommend a 10 gallon to use for painting.

Yeah. I had always heard that. I was hoping your experience was going to prove the experts wrong. I've has a succession of electric random orbital sanders that do great. I usually hook the dust port to a wet/dry vac to lessen the mess. I had always heard you need at least a 20 gal compressor to paint. Your paint looks great.
