snatch strap breaking strength?

do you think this will do? even though its a 2" strap its rated at 32k

That should work just never heard of that brand. I am learning that a lot of us are using straps the wrong way. I carry just a recovery strap which is not the same as a snatch strap. Look at Viking or ARBUSA.com to see the definitions and difference. I am a firm believer in never skimping on gear especially recovery gear.

go hit up your local TSC. they have every size and weight limit strap you can think of, and the prices are better or comparable to online. We've used them on everything from fullsize trucks and diesels to jeeps. Just keep em clean and dry and stored away from sunlight and you'll be fine.

For a 4Runner, you should go for the 17k. It is smaller and will provided greater elasticity for a vehicle that size. The bigger straps will do the job as well, but will require greater force to be applied by the pulling vehicle. Greater force applied with less elasticity increases stress on recovery points / frame, and can lead to damage in some cases. You would rather have a strap break then to yank off a recovery point and have a projectile or bend a section of your frame. The whole point of a snatch strap is to store potential energy through elasticity. Let it do its job. As ladywolf mentioned, keep them dry and out of the sun. Also periodically inspect the strap for fraying, as even small amounts of fraying can significantly reduce the load capacity of your strap.

There's a huge difference between a real "snatch" strap and a recovery or tow strap.
And what kind of wheeling do you do? Are you trying to get a vehicle buried to the frame in mud unstuck, or one with a diff hung up on a rock, for example.

to be honest i have no idea. i have yet to get my of rigg off road yet except for donuts in a field or two. im just trying to get prepared.
last night i went ahead and got an arb 17,600 snatch strap, (2) 3/4 d-rings, and a receiver shackle.
this weekend i plan on doing the rear diff breather mod and take my running boards off.
i think that should get me started? already have tires and the factory hook in the front.
