Snow

I'm right on the line of 8"-16" and 16"-22" (just on the VT side of the Lebanon NH area) so we'll see how it goes

I'm in the 20"-30" range. As of right now we have about 26" and still snowing hard. Suppose to taper off by later this afternoon.

About 3" this morning. It has started coming down pretty hard now but, looking at the radar, I think we'll be lucky to see 8-10. In Vermont terms, that's not a big deal.

We didn't get much in NYC, Kinda disappointed after they made such a HUGE deal about it yesterday! They started shutting down stores and supermarkets from 6-8pm :wtf: I wake up and we didn't even get 1' lol less much less maybe 6" I'm from upstate i don't even think we would have a hour delay from school in this haha But i know certain parts of MA and NH and ME and getting pounded! Going to head out to NJ this after noon and do a little snow run and I'll also be out in MA this weekend hoping to do some snow wheeling depending on how much they get..

I'm out here in Long Island , Suffolk county and we got a good amount . Over 15" at least. I went and got a brand new set of Cooper AT3 before the storm hit cus my 2wd and old tires were not a good look. Hope these tires will help a little.

Best of luck to all of my fellow forum members living in the U.S. facing this weather phenomenon known as "snow."

Up here, we just call this winter :canada:

I'm in the Boston area and took the 05' V6 out around the neighborhood today in about 24 inches. Had it in 4lo with the diff locked, but I'm confident it would have plowed through it even in 2wd. Real light fluffy stuff today.

255/75-r17 Duratracs with a 3'' daystar lift. Having a blast.

Wound up with about 4" but it's bitterly cold and blowing hard out there.

It was about 55* all day. I think I've driven in the snow 3 times in the last 2 years. It's scary over here...

i was projected to get 40+ at its peak on monday. ended up with around 10", but its hard to tell because its drifted so bad from all the wind

I enjoy snow in the 10 inch range. Keeps the Hondas and their pretty chrome wheels off the road. Lol

it can get worst

A few years back, the night before the snow storm, I thought my sis in law was over reacted when she decided to stay in the hotel next to the hospital, where she worked, as she was afraid of not being able to drive to work on the next day according to the weather broadcasting. It turned out that, she did the right thing. Other wise she would have not made it to work on the following day. That was 02/02/2011

I remember the roads were so clear on the way to work. Only vehicles that I saw on the roads were snow plowing trucks. The rest were in the ditch.

I got to the building entrance with inches of snow and one man's footprints (see pic below). Afraid of being alone in the big building, I took off. I learned later (via email) that the entire office was closed.

Got back to the garage, with my crappie fishing gears, I decided to take my baby Runner out for ... a ride, heading south to check out the roads and crappies.

On the way to the honey holes, I took pictures of trucks that were stuck on the big pile of snow off the roads. After counting 49-50 trucks, I stopped taking picture.

Back to the subject, to the OP, our Runners are not much different to those that ran off the road - 4 wheel drive with some advance analog/digital controls. When it comes snow and ice, we (our 4WDs and others ' 2WDs) are almost in the same boat - Ice skating?

I have driven through 8" - 12" of snow without issue, but I have seen cars and trucks ran off the roads when there was only an inch or less of snow on the roads. The main difference was the weather and road conditions. If it's below the freezing point (32F?) and the road has no salts, we would most likely see some vehicles run off the road.

So drive carefully.
I m sorry for such long post

True story...watching one of those blooper shows many years ago.

The weatherman (male) comes on and says that the snow storm went north of them, but the next storm will hit tonight.

The news anchor (woman) responded. "You promised me 6" last night, but never delivered." The look on her face when she realized what she said was priceless. The sports guy walked off the set because he couldn't stop laughing.

I agree Mid9pitstop. First and foremost, be careful. Just because the road may look ok, there could be black ice. 4x4 won't help when trying to stop.
MikeInNh Must get video! Sounds like false advertising to me. Bahahaha

well, we got some snow, not what the weatherman had projected but still. I had no problem in 10 inches of snow and a little more at some spots. just left it on 4hi and i was good to go. BTW i did lower the tire pressure to 27 psi just in case, lol.

out of curiousity, why higher pressure?

When you lower the pressure it widens the tires footprint. This puts less lbs per square inch...which will cause the tire to ride on top of the snow. You want to dig deep to the road surface or the hard packed snow.

For the beach you want to ride on top of the sand...so there you want to lower the pressure.
