SNOWBALL
2008 Toyota 4Runner, Urban Runner Edition

So.. I figured it was about time to start a legitimate build thread. Most of these pictures will be from an iPhone (sorry, it's just too convenient), but I might snap an occasional DSLR photo or two.

I try to be thoughtful and deliberate when I decide to make a mod, so hopefully most of these turned out to be fairly professional. I think they did.

One of the first times I worked on my suspension, my buddy lent me a hand and let me use his shop. 8 hours (and lots of frustration) later he said the words "Get this damn snowball out of my shop". After that I figured Snowball would be more than an appropriate name for her.

C4 Sliders sand blasted, PC'd (textured black), and grip taped. Install: done. Pretty pleased with the results :artist2:

Also got her some fresh juice. Loving the larger 27F. Nearly 1000 CCAs

Looks awesome.
How did you do the black emblems? Plasti-dip?
Yeah, first I took my time and really made sure I coated all the edges. Then taking a tooth pick and twisting it back and forth between the holes in the letters took out overspray once it had dried. I need to touch up a couple spots but it has held up super well.

Luke... look at these sliders... love the look!

Thanks! They work great so far. Just need to put them to the test on a trail somewhere

How do you like he JBA's? Any noticable impact on handling or the ride?

Love them so far. They got my castor out to around 3.5, so my handling is (obviously) much improved over OEM UCAs.

How is the ride with the Superflex HD in the rear? Did it give you a solid 2" lift? Do the 5100's manage them ok? Do you have any extra weight in the back?
I have FJ springs with a spacer and they sag too much if I have any weight back there so I'm looking for a new set of springs.

Nice ride! Also have a white 4th gen so this is goals for sure!

Thanks! Being deliberate and taking your time goes a long way.

How is the ride with the Superflex HD in the rear?

I went from FJ Springs, to Icon 2" coils, and finally to the HDs. It was a huge upgrade. Actually got right around 3" in the rear, which I was hoping for. The 5100s work great with them, but I'd say these are the tallest coils you could run with them without any issues (took a combination of strut compressors and a floor jack to get them to fit). The HDs are a 25% increase in spring rate from stock, so they flex well and ride really nicely. But I do keep around 100 lbs of gear in my trunk all the time and it doesn't sag whatsoever.

I currently have around 400 lbs of stuff in the back because I'm moving across country. Despite all that weight, they've only sagged around 1".

Refinished the headlights using the Spar Urethane method.. Turned out pretty nicely! Definitely some clearer lenses.

Sweet ride. I actually have an 08' Urbanrunner as well. I just ordered the F5's in 17x8.5, but i'm wondering about rubbing issues if I mount on 285/70/17s. Im going w/ 5100s and OME's all around.

What width did you go w/ on the F5's?

Good to see another Knoxvillian with a modded 4th gen. Im on the north end near the clinton hwy/merchants area. All stock at the moment. Got a 3" lift, JBAs, and 255/75/17 to go on here very soon.
