Hey guys,

After a month or so of searching (luckily it wasn't that long) I finally found a good deal (I think) on a 4runner. I picked up a '98 Limited in very good shape. I live in Jersey and it has no body rust, and very minimal surface rust on the frame. The whole thing is very clean with the exception of the front seats being torn due to old leather.. It has 182k on it and has already come in handy for the snowstorms.

As it sits it's pretty clean. I like it and probably won't be doing much soon in terms of mods as I have to catch up on the maintenance (All fluids, timing belt, water pump, plugs, wires, etc.)

Looks good! I really like the colour matched front bumper. Looks a lot cleaner than the chrome ones.

Looks good... looks rust free for your neck of the woods! The first indication of rust, is the corner bumpers-- yours look good! Glad to see you've got priorities. Luckily, this is a relatively easy truck to do maintenance. Welcome and good luck!

I actually saw that thing on c-list a few weeks back. I noticed they said it was repainted. Did they tell you why they repainted it?

Are you sure it was the same truck? This one was only on craigslist for 1-2 days before I bought it. There was nothing in the listing about new paint, and if it is a new paint job, they did a good job (no overspray etc.)

New Rims and Tires Ordered from tire rack as of 02/12/2015. I ordered Wrangler Duratracs in 265/70/16's just because I'm not going to a 3 inch lift yet, and I think those would still look okay once I do lift. In terms of rims I got American Racing Bajas in black, they're 96.00 each right now. Pictures to come once they get here

Well the bumpers have been painted, they don't match the white on the body or the silver on the cladding. But who cares if it's been repainted, my 2000 is burning through on the clear, it needs paintin'.

Oh. I meant the whole truck doesn't look repainted. The bumpers have been, as they were chrome on the limiteds for '98. Yeah I don't care either. Just doesn't look like it's been repainted. Either way the body is in good shape. Need some mechanic refreshing though, nothing major. First order of business was tires, they were almost bald, and the rims were bent with one even having part of the lip torn off :doh:
