Tires...

I have three options...

A) Toyo Open country MT 265/75 r16 (32x10.5r16)
B) Nitto Trail Grapplers 285/70 r16 (32x11.5r16)
C) Toyo Open Country MT LT255/85 R16 (33X10.00R16)

I know same company... so I'm not worried

A) I know they will fit, with no issues...
B) I get that wider FAT tire that I LOVE, possible trimming.
C) I get my 33, but I'll need some trimming.

what do you all think? I'm up in the air...

oh an I got my windows tinted... not that it 'needed' the darker look, I really like the way it looked... but the heat poring in form the windows was a bit much... I'm tempted to tint the sun roof too...

decision has been made...

Just put in my order for Nitto 285/70r16... monday will be installed...

excited... finally I get my meats back... miss my 75 bronco...

So I've been busy lately, and I have alot more pics... but oh well...

got a new job and decided I'm getting tires and window tint. the tires I went with is the Nitto Trail Grapplers, 285/70r16 it's a 32x11.5 on 16" rim... I wanted the 285 aspect, but knew I don't want the 33inch tall tire. I'm very happy with the purchase.

the tint is nice, but i didn't know the rear windows weren't tinted, just colored glass, so I pulled the trigger and did it all, it's effectiveness is crazy, it did make the rear windows more tinted, but I really like the AC now, it actually uses the 'auto' temp and gets there at least 75% faster. worth it.

the trails were fun, I've tried to keep them in order, oh well. in here is mostly AZ desert, some utah mtn's and more az desert...

I need some more tree's where I live, or just need to get to the tree's...

it's official.... I gotta replace that valve cover gasket....

anyone take the time to 'rebuild' and test their injectors? I'm just wondering if it's worth the hassle... I'm getting lower than desired mpg, I'm lucky if I get 13... and I have a mild lift and 32's... but it could be my heavy foot too, I just think my exhaust and A/F ratio is too rich and the injectors are giving too much gas... ie- worn....

Valve cover gaskets replaced

I also changed my fuel regulator, picked one up from auto zoo, did this as a test, see if my economy improves a little... Been getting 13mpg round town and town is flat, I expected maybe 14 around town as the worst...

so i get 20mpg daily commute. with 265/75r16 mud tires.

Maybe some things to do/check.

Run a couple treatments of seafoam through your gas tank.

Check your plugs and wires.

OBDII: any misfire detected? Also having obdII connected and using an app you can track how efficiently you are driving.

At cruising speed roughly 72mph on highway i have a fuel flow of about 3.4gph. i'd be curious what yours is.

13mpg round town in flat gilbert is super crappy. Something is not right.

I agree, I haven't been to 72mph for the gph, the us60 is kinda up and down often enough... that i can't count it... I'll have to try a stretch towards tucson being flater.

this is so odd... has anyone noticed this?
Running with ECT on:
Scan guage says average is 13.5mpg
Fill up calc says average is 15.2mpg

Running with ECT off:
Scan guage says average is 15mpg
Fill up calc says average is 13.9mpg

What the heck?

PS - Loving the 'no bad smell' now, although I do think I'm running rich still... maybe I should have taken the injectors out for cleaning... oh well, they aren't hard to get to.

today I did the following

replace the rack and pinion
flush the PS
replace drivers CV from napa (lifetime warranty)
install mstud's front q-disco links
remove my fallen antenna from the fender
and drive it around the block

I'm beat...

oh hey, has anyone else seen this issue? the antenna was still bolted to it's mount, but the mount weld broke off? i didn't know what to do, so I took it out, I don't use the antenna, or radio stations... so figure I'm not going to miss the antenna motor sound...

Build was great to read through! I live in Gilbert as well and just picked up a 2000 4x4 with the E-locker

I as well need a new steering rack and valve cover gasket - Hope to do them soon!

Did you ever get your bad fuel economy issue figured out? I am running around 13mpg myself, though I think its fuel filter related.

Enjoyed your build thread btw, I am going to be going the Bilsteins on stock coils route you went awhile back here myself shortly. My Runner is bumpier and harsher than my slammed 99 Jetta ever was and that thing was 3 inches off the pavement.
