just join this crew this weekend. it'll be my first time with this group and my rig is all stock except for KO2s. seems like a knowledgeable and fun group based on internet interactions. i expect to have lots of fun and learn a few things too. :)

Azusa is for building up a beater rig as a mud machine ...not for your everyday rig you take pride in ...to actually really have some fun there. One goodtime there and not even realizing it ...your rig is never the same.

Something don't make since here ...I'm not quit understanding. Trails = free also no mud to clean out of every crevice for months to come ...trails = hose off some trail dust.

Azusa = alone mud = stuck stuck = asking for a yank = good luck with that

SoCal T4R meets & runs = 10 - 30 rigs all fellow 4Runner enthusiast who like to have a hell of a good time
Broke down / stuck = no need to ask someone's already on it before you even get out of your rig = no need for luck when you have 20 extra hands, rigs, tools and the knowledge to fix any situation within 10 mins and 60 mins if your in a ditch and missing tires with no winch.
But will be fixed and back on the trails...

Logic makes no sense....
Sounds like we may have another "weenie" one more and it will be a full blown sausage fest up in this mutha fukka!!!

The first place I went to after I got my runner was the mud pits. It was cool crossing the streams of water and kinda getting a feel of the truck. Came out of there with a ripped brake line and some blown shocks as i was smashing it through the mud... lol I wouldn't go back again though. :sadwave:

Last time I went, which was about 5 months ago, there was almost no mud at all. Only a couple of torn up hills and such. It was funny to watch a f150 with a huge lift and mud tires try almost a dozen times to make it up one of the hills. He eventually gave up and I crawled the t4r up it like it was nothing. A couple years back it was a swamp, but I guess it depends on how much water they release into it.

My understanding is that it's the mud guys that bring in pumps and push water into the main area. Could be wrong but I could swear that's what I saw somewhere.

It has to be a receding waterline to create that nasty mud they are known for. It takes years of water saturation to make that kind of deep mud. After sitting there stuck frame deep in it for an hour you do realizes the true beauty of the place. It was pretty cool having a pair of bald eagles chilling about 20 feet away from me as I pondered my mistake. Eventually had a propane powered custom crawler on 44's pull me out.

Gonna go check out 285/70/17 tomorrow. Not sure if I will have time for trimming by Saturday so I hope it won't rub too bad.

Love that tool setup. I also have new brakes ready but I don't have time to put them on for tomorrow :cry2:
