Sounds like you didn't get the valve stem out all the way. Takes me about 2-3 mins to drop from 40 to 18 psi with my EZ deflator.

The problem seemed to be related to the quality of the release valve on the deflator. I had to move the release button around to find the right angle and the venting seemed obstructed at the valve rather than upstream at the valve stem. Maybe I just got a bad one. In the midst of my frustration with the EZ deflator, I discovered that the tire gauge (with valve) I have left over from my track days was able to drop pressure to about 18 in 1:20. That is fast enough for me, but I like the idea of the preset deflators so I can air down all four at the same time.

Lol i'm not even joking, we couldn't sleep after folding my seats down so we assumed fetal position with our heads to the wheel wells. 30 degree breeze woke us up at 12AM and couldn't sleep after. We had a tent but figured it'd be too cold in it and warmer in the rig. :redface: Storage and sleeping platform later, i'm getting my sliders done this weekend :hail:

nick, how tall are you? being 6'5 i have to sleep at an angle even in our king bed at home so my feet don't hang off the edge. shoulda bought a cal king :\

i think with the front seats all the way forward i'll be able to build a fold-out sleeping platform in the 4th gen. that or i'll just rig up some sort of fly so we can sleep with the hatch open.

$160 at REI (cheaper than Amazon). i have it and if i had known, woulda lent you one side of it (it unzips to make two single's).

I thought mine sucked at first too, but then realized I wasn't pulling the stem out all the way and pushing the piece up to let air go faster. I think I actually youtube'd the arb one to figure it out.

I'm 5'8".. pretty much the length from the rear trunk to the near top of my back seat folded down in my 2nd gen.

i imagine your 2nd gen has dimensions pretty darn close to my 3rd gen.

my sleeping platform is 6' 2" on the driver's side, and 6" even on the passenger's side. Shorter on the passenger side to allow the passenger to recline a bit while driving, while all I need on the driver's side is to keep the seat in my driving position.

The extra space behind the passenger seat has actually come in handy since that's where my folding table gets stashed on trips (i've not had a human companion on trips yet).

The idea is that I'd like to hard wire the following items:
- dashcam (currently plugged into the cig lighter)
- comm device (will pay forward the handheld unit i have now generously gifted to me from miah)
- light bar and other lights. i'd like a small flood light for the rear at a minimum.
- fridge? maybe eventually?
- onboard compressor? maybe eventually?

i've always shied away from anything electrical so i'm not even sure what search terms to use when looking for information on the board. can anyone point me in the right direction? tell me what i need to buy?

i figure getting this stuff will set me up so i can go buy even more stuff.

I shelled out the bucks for a Switch Pro, saved my life from having to do anything crazy or radical wiring wise - relays, switches, whatever. Thats my 2 cents, cater to your strengths and pay for the weaknesses. Really didn't matter how many you tube videos I watched either, i hate electrical stuff.

However, the Blue Sea fuse box is the bees knees.

You can get a bussman fuse box with relays already wired to it for like 130 or so off eBay.

Thanks Jeff, I ordered the tri-flow for the UCA uniballs. It was an add item so I had to get something else to go with it. I will give the EZDeflators a try.

Tri-flow is the shiiiit I use that on my UCA's and many other things. Smooth as silk and no dirt or funky build up crap ....luv it been using that for a couple years.
Reminds me I just used the last of mine when I prep the rig on fri for our weekend run. Reorder time

Until the tires or suspension until they broke or just wore down used and abused and could no longer function.
But when that time finally came he had stacked his chips up throughout that entire time ...and boom out of nowhere he drops the dough on the OME BP-51 kit and then his new set of Coopers....that's how you do it right.

I know man I keep chuckling everytime I see comments about this funny situation you were in...
But what kills me is I had a couple extra sleeping bags and foam padding you could've used and would have been all cozy just chillin ...but not knowing about the seats folding down completely flat is where the problem is cause knowing that you would have figured the rest out on your own. And would have had the bright �� To make a bed.
