I hope we can do it again next year. The last one was great. there were a few hiccups that hopefully he can help solve. I drove by there today on my way home from Vegas and was thinking about it.

Speaking of Las Vegas My wife and I went there for the weekend. Stayed at VDara on the strip. The valets complimented me on the 4Runner a few times.
Had a nice view from the 43rd floor.
Going up Sunday and back Tuesday was great. I had no traffic either way. House to hotel was 4 hours each way.

Hoping they get the permit issues taken care of this year so there's a little more freedom. We'll see what kind of shape my rig is in after spending the summer in the boulders up on the mountains, haha. After April my next 4 runs are going to be Odessa/Doran payback run, then Dishpan, Holcomb, and John Bull, with the Dushy Ershim trail up north pulling up the rear at the end of the summer. Gonna put these gears and lockers to work.

Dishpan Springs, Holcomb Creek, and John Bull... that's the order I ran them last year. That's a good progression as each is a bit tougher than the last.

Hoping to do Odessa->Doran at the end of April as long as I don't break anything bombing down the Mojave Trail in a couple weeks. Gotta get as much practice in as I can before Dushy Ershim in August.

Sure I'll keep you guys posted. I still owe [MENTION=119761]RedRun85[/MENTION] pictures. :behindsofa: Think we're only at 3 rigs right now and we're all locked front/rear on 35s. 5 is a good group. Might be 1 or 2 more but it's a good experienced group.

Thanks Danny. I've done it with a large group and with breakdowns, it took all day. We were trapped in the canyon for awhile by breakdowns on either end! I've seen pics recently and the trail looks easier due to all the fkn rock stacking.

Yeah, we had 2 break downs last time. I was the first casualty at the beginning of the trail when I blew out the rear end and then there was a CV that went on [MENTION=133319]MACT4R[/MENTION] but they didn't get back to camp until after dark.

I'm located in Artesia/Cerritos and i guess the closest areas for me would be the sheep mountain wilderness and San Bernardino National Forest. Whats are some trails for beginners looking to start their off road adventures?

I'm heading up to Hungry Valley on Sunday if you want to roll with me. I have 5 people right now. Most in stock form. It'll be a great intro if you want to get her dirty. I'm on Long Beach so we can roll up together.

Another thing to add. I drove an average of 80mph all the way to Vegas and back to keep up with traffic. I dropped it to 75 from Barstow to home ( took the 58 to Mohave then down the 14. 650 miles total.
My gas mileage was 15.7 for the trip. I'm glad it's not my daily driver.

I haven't even tried to calculate my mpg since I put the 35s and rear bumper on. I'm not even sure I wanna know, hahah. I don't think my gas gauge is reading correctly though because I keep putting less gas in than I'm expecting to.

I'll keep you posted. We don't actually have a plan yet. It mostly depends on whether I break anything running Mojave in 2 weeks, and whether Mike breaks anything in Utah. You get those 33s on yet? Once you see all of us on 35s you'll be wanting to upgrade. hahahah.

Yea I got them on and got my rear lift done, front is almost done, so close I can taste it lol. Shit 35s are the norm now. Still 33s are an upgrade for me, I’m sitting just shy of 40” fender to ground and about 10” on the diffs, pretty satisfied for now

35s are the norm for people who actually wheel their rigs, haha. I'm still not done cutting. That's some pretty good clearance. I measured 42 1/2 and 43 on the rear. Solid axle is obviously a whole different game vs IFS for clearance and articulation. You can do a lot on 33s.
