So Cal 4Runner BS Thread

Oh for sure, especially with all the weight you carry on your extended trips, you need the extra flotation. I'm gonna try n make the leap to 37s.

Too much work to stuff a 37 on a 4th gen, although I am pretty much already geared for it. I'll save 37-40s for if I ever get a dedicated crawler. For now, I'm pretty well geared for a variety of travel across the majority of terrain I'm going to encounter.

Just replaced my SECOND Toytec shock in my coilovers. The drivers side went a few months ago and this is from the passengers side. Seals totally busted, leaking all over my wheel well and garage. At least Toytec was willing to replace them after warranty. Thinking I'm going to go a different route in 2 years when they fail again...

And now I think a wheel bearing is going. Large hum from the front left and the tire has some play when lifted and wiggling it from 12/6 hand positions.

And my tie rods are shot, yielding play in the tires from 9/3 hand positions.

And a screw in BOTH of my rear tires.

AND I'm supposed to be driving 1000 miles down to Baja next Thursday.....send beer

Yea I got them on and got my rear lift done, front is almost done, so close I can taste it lol. Shit 35s are the norm now. Still 33s are an upgrade for me, I’m sitting just shy of 40” fender to ground and about 10” on the diffs, pretty satisfied for now

Oh Man!
Gains. Gains. Gains. All about those gains.
Nice! Can’t wait to see her all stacked!

Sup everyone, new to the forum. Recently picked up an 04 4Runner so i have tons of questions. If anyone is willing to help with answers id really apreciate it.

Awesome! I want to keep it fairly stock just want to do some minor upgrades like the running boards (the stock ones are cracked and look like shit), radio (stock one has a malfunctioning volume knob), and a leveling kit (since it came with some aftermarket wheels so i just want it to look the part, and it rubs when i turn) so i wanna keep the wheels but i dont want it to rub. Any suggestions ?

Any plans to go offroading it in the future?

I have some fj cruiser coils with TRD bilstein shocks for the front. Has the Toytec spacers installed. Get about 3” lift. $100 located in Carlsbad. I also have rear Toyota bilstein shocks I’ll throw in.
