Believe it or not, try contacting Dale in the service department of Miller Toyota in Culver City, CA. He has quoted me prices for DayStar work that were cheaper than east coast specialty shops, and the dealership stands behind his work. Dale is, among other things, the resident 4Runner expert.

Yes, I/we live in MD, just north of Washington, DC, but right now, and for at least another month, I'm living in Inglewood/Los Angeles CA at my MIL's house. My wife came out here for implant surgery (right shoulder, reverse ball and socket)
and I drove out here to help MIL (who's 91) take care of her. I've been 4wheeling in the San Bernardino mountains on Forest Service roads near Victorville, near Silverwood Lake, at the intersection of I-15 and Route 138. My 4Runner is showroom stock, but has been able to negotiate those fire roads w/o incident, and the scenery is amazing.

Have you tried contacting one of the 4 Wheel Parts stores? Their knowledge and exposure for the 4runner will vary by location as will Toyota Dealers willing install aftermarket parts.

DCH Toyota in Torrance said they do lifts, just call ahead with specifics. Worth pinging Carson Toyota as well since they move alot of TRD/aftermarket parts.
