So I came out of the Bank today...

and saw this old man with a stock anthracite runner with clear glass all around (funny, there are like no cars around that have clear glass anymore) and hes leaned over looking at his tires and then he looks over at my Procomp 33's and then back over at his tires and I can see he was trying to figure how he could get bigger tires on his 4runner.
It was pretty cool/funny, I almost stopped him to talk to him, but he got on his phone, so I sat in my 4runner til he got off the phone to see if he would come ask me. but no luck, so I pulled out and headed to work.

just a fun little story, maybe you had to be there,

When I bought my 98 SR5 it had the running boards and gold badging and stock radial black wall tires. After three days, the running boards where gone as well as the badging. I replaced the stocks with 265/75r16 A/T's and tinted all the windows. 18% on front and 5% on rears. I went back to the dealership to pick up the title and the salesman looked out window and asked where my 4runner was. I said "it's right there." He said "where?" I said "right in front dumbass." He said "that isn't what I sold you is it?" I said "no it's an improvement of what you sold me." He got his manager and some other salespeople to look at what I'd done. The manager asked how much everything cost me. When I told him, he asked me if I wanted a job. It's a small dealership that buy's older Toyota's and Honda's. All they do is a cheap wax job and change the oil when they get a new vehicle. I had spent very little and made a drastic change. They said if my 4runner looked like that when they got, they could have sold it for alot more money.

It's. Always fun to catch people checking out your runner. I had a ya had to be there moment the other day.
I was parked way out there and as we were heading for the runner I notice girl pulli-g on her guys arm and he was rubber necking at my runner about half way there we pass the couple and I herd him mention 4 runner and asked what about 4 runners he pointed and said that one is a nice height I just smiled and said total lift approx 7in over stock he just stood there and watched us till. We were loaded and leaving she was not impressed by the look on her face. Like I said ya had to be there.

Topdown: No I didn't take the job. I'm a stay-at-home dad. A daycare for my son is more a week than I would make. Besides, I've worked at dealerships before detailing and they suck. They're all the same. They are always trying find ways not to pay you.

i get alot of people asking me about the ARB when i stop at stores and such it feels nice to have someone walk up to and be "like nice rig where di you get that, i didn't think they made them for 4runners" i also like buddies who try to stack thier 4runner up to yours and the only argument they have for having a better truck is lower miles, well to bad it's a toyota, miles don't mean a god dam thing on these if they are treated well!:infidel::gun5:

It's weird seeing one with clear glass and no tint at all huh ? Of all the Runners I've seen I have only seen one with clear all around and it's a neighbor of mine.

my 2000 had no tint. i kinda of liked it that way. i'm not a fan of how the stock 4runners don't match the front and the back. it should be either the same for the front and rear..or full on fishbowl

gosh i feel ya there! i hate when people are staring at me while im driving, you can feel it even when your not loooking. It bugs the crap out of me! I think its a hazard and tint laws should be lifted because of this!! but yes, i have never seen clear windows all around crazy!

LOL! i heard they are extremely rare. I used to get a lot of questions about my LP gas powered Landcruiser sticker...no it wasn't...just for Sh!ts and giggles.

Ron: No sir it is not legal. It is two shades darker than legal. Where I live the police don't care enough to pull you over for tint. If I get pulled over for something else I'm sure they'd say something. There are just too many vehicles down here with dark tint to single out one person. It's a risky chance, but like you said it looks cool and I'm willing to take that chance.
