in the 95 today because it got a little wet and started to stink. i have no problems with the noise/heat etc. my concern here is all of these electrical plugs and what not underneath. i plan for this thing to do some water crossings and i expect there would be a good bit of water in the cab. should i be concerned with these getting wet? are they important? most of them are under the driver seat area. :fishing:

Maybe you should get a submarine.



What about all the things that sit even lower on the truck than the in-cab wiring?
Like the diffs, trans/t-case, starter, alt. They won't like being under water even more.

i've read the threads on those issues and i've taken all of that into consideration. i think what i REALLY mean is what happens when i go to spray the mud out of my cab. this is probably a silly thread anyway considering all the wiring in question was pretty moist while under sopping wet carpet :doh:

You need a 80s subaru 4x4 wagon. My buddy used to submerge it all the time never had a issue.

In that case, the thing you probably need to worry about most is the ECM, which is behind the pass side kick panel.

i dont avoid water either. it got me a rebuildt motor! i do alot of river crossings, and all ive done was put breather hoses on my diffs and ran them up high. i also plan on getting a snorkle soon. dont let the water get into the intake and id say your fine. well raise the ecu of course....

yeah, i figure as long as i don't spend all day in the water and keep it below the headlights, run new breather tubes, and move the ecu i'd be in good shape. i read all those threads :thumb: how do you feel about my plastic fan chopping through water? think it might get busted up?
