So What To Do Now

So today I was heading up to chilkoot near Bass Lake CA and made it with no problems Pics included....



on the way down I must have overextended my shock and ripped it out... total bummer and had to limp down the trail to the main road. So I guess my Question is should I contact Fox shocks about this or should i just buy some longer shocks?? I purchased with them on the truck so I'm not sure about a warranty but I haven't seen fox shocks do this so any input helps....

Fox will most likely tell you to go piss up a rope and then most likely tell you to buy appropriately sized shocks, preferably something of theirs. Best way to be sure you've got the right shocks next time is measure shock length at your maximum up travel, then your max down travel, your ride hight with your current springs, and then figure out how much you need each direction before you slam bump stops or shear the shaft in half.

C/N: suspension tuning is complicated and Internet diagnosing is difficult. Read around, see what works and is proven for others, and go from there.

I was asking what coils you have?

Like stated above you need to fully cycle the rear suspension and measure. This way you know you have a long enough shock.

The LC (landcruiser) rear shock is longer and can handle coils with 4" rear lift in most cases. Its cheap, rides like stock and I love them.

Yes definitely get your compressed and extended measurements.
But also don't forget bump stops. If you have the stock ones with longer travel shocks, the shock could be taking all the force.
Higher lift springs =
Longer travel =
longer shock body = extend bump stops so shocks don't bottom out.

Yes i have extended bump stops also have 1 fox 2.0 up for sale:happy: leaning twoards the LC because yes they are super flex coils and I do have a CBI rear bumper with swing out and was reading that he BFAD liked them but doesn't have my lift so I will go measure...

Extended 23.5"

These should work great. Your fox shocks are good for 3" rear lift max. The super flex give 3.5-4" just like 7 wrap LC coils which pair great with OEM tokico blacks.
