SoCal Meet-up?

So we are confirmed for the 18th? Need to be sure because my offroad calendar is getting busy.

This Sunday (May 28th) a couple of us are doing the Miller Jeep Trail in Los Padres if you want to join. This is a difficult trail - sliders, lift, Mt's, lockers recommended.

Looking forward to the big meet up on the 18th (if thats what we're doing?) I'll bring a couple giveaways - maybe some recovery straps and shackles.
 
SoCal Meet will be 18 June 2011

Due to the positive responses for the 18th, that will be the new date of the meet, so mark your calendars. For any of the guys who won't be able to make it, don't worry, we should be able to organize another meet soon after. With that said and done, I'm still hoping for further input for the actual site of the run. Thanks for your input guys.:thanks:
 
I haven't posted here in a while. This looks like fun. I might be able to go. Possibly will be taking a couple of nephews out for their first time off road so my vote goes for the easy trail.

OK looks like a huge turn-out with some mixed builds. I am thinking that we meet at one central location and then split into two groups. Easy stock and moderate modified. Options.

1.Pilot Rock. The stock rigs can run the normal route 2N33 while the more built rigs run 2N17x. We then meet at Pilot rock and caravan the rest of the way to Arrowhead. Possible follow on trail- Dishpan(black diamond run)

2. Bees canyon. Stock- Bee's Canyon 5S09 into Idylwild, Modified take the Black Diamond off shoot 4S21 then circle down to Idylwild and rejoin everyone.

3. Clarks grade. This would be single group run that runs from Angelus Oaks up to Big Bear. Possible follow on trail- Gold Mountain(black diamond run).


More options possible but those are three that came to mind. most of them would be finished by 1:00 or 2:00 for the initial part if we meet at 8 or 9. Prefer 8am

Large parking areas before and after to get various group shots and provide for a convoy to the trail heads.

Great, I'd like #1 or #3, though Bees Canyon was fun. With the other 2, we could have lunch in Arrowhead, I know this place the locals like on the east side of the lake on Hook Creek road, theres the Ceder Glen Inn or the Malt Shop, I have food on the mind, maybe I should have breakfast.

Anyone else have a trail preference?

The three runs are in different areas so wont know until a run is decided on.

Pilot Rock- could be Mc Donalds @ 138 and I-15, or maybe near Ontario Mills Mall with a convoy to get to the trail head.

Bee's Canyon- probably the same Stater Bros parking lot we used last time.

Clarks Grade- choice to meet in Redlands with Convoy or Meet in Parking lot of Angelus Oaks General Store or Mill Creek Ranger station.

As cool as a convoy sounds, remember the further we have to drive to the trail, the easier it will be to get seperated and delayed on start

I'm hoping for a time that isn't too early, mainly since it's a 2 hour commute to Arrowhead from Orange County. Might have to do another campout if you want to do this early.
