SoCal Meet-up?

I'll check my work schedule tomorrow. Looks like a group gathering not to miss!!!

I'm not sure I understand the options

#1 ends up in Arrowhead
#2 ends up in Idyllwild
#3 ends up in Big Bear

so where will the whole group meetup be as the start locations also look to be widely different?

Just as a suggestion, we could all meet in Hesperia (plenty of parking for group photos), run easy trail thru Luna Mtn down to Fawnskin. Then break into three groups and run three group trails (easy - Jacoby, mod - gold mtn, diff - Heartbreak Ridge) then head down to Pioneer Town for dinner at the Pioneer Town pub (again great group photo location in a "old west" setting. Bring ya toy guns and cowboy hats!) Just a suggestion that may be irrelevant if I have misundrestood the group gathering locations - in which case I apologize!

PS - I'm traveling from Ventura County and meeting up with some other 4R's on the way. We are happy to be on the road early so a meetup at 8am wherever is fine for us.

Meeting spots

Overland-The meeting spots would be different depending on what people decide we should do as a run. The 3 options were to not have three seperate runs but offer a choice at 3 different spots in the Forest for the group to run. Two of them having more difficult side trails that split and rejoin or finish close to each other.

810Moto- all 3 choices are easy to moderate and two of them have more difficult sections that we could split the group off to run. Exception would be Clarks grade as it is easy/ moderate the entire way. Those wanting additional challenge would have to do the follow on trail.

COB- meet time of 0800-0900 latest is better for most driving a long distance to be able to get home at a reasonable time. Allows more time to relax after a day on the trails and hang out admiring everyones mods say at the Malt shop. Also some others have mentioned needing to be done and back home early.


Communications:
Primary- CB
If you do not have a CB or Ham and plan to use Motorola Talkabout or other similar GMRS/FRS walkie talkie please bring 2. This will allow communication with a second vehicle that has a CB and can relay info to you. Also make sure the batteries are charged.

Oh I see. I was reading this as three seperate run groups.

In that case I would suggest Clarkes grade due to clos eproximity to many trails in Big Bear ro run after the meetup.

As much as I want to do the more difficult trails I will stick with the easier group since I don't want to break anything 5 days before my Moab trip.
 
Clark's Grade 18 June!

Lets settle on Clark's Grade for this meet, we can save Pilot Rock for our next big event. How does that sound? It would make for a fun follow on day at the lake, restaurants, or whatever around Big Bear or Arrowhead. It will be good times.

Ahhh no excuses. Im going to moab on the 18th so i will be missing this run, But I think I am going to run clawhammer this week. =) Hopefully i dont break too many things that I cant fix before a 1000mile trip

Haha you are one brave man my friend! Where are you guys planning on camping out in Moab (Assuming your camping)? I was looking at a spot after the second river crossing on the Kane Creek trail.
 
I have not made any progress on my truck but am still hopefull to have it back together in time. I am still looking for a fender but have all other parts to rebuild front end. Here is how it sits right now, and having Reserve duty this weekend I am hoping that everything goes well Mon-Thur nights so it can be getting aligned on Friday. If not I will catch a ride with someone so I can still lead the trail.

Meet

IM NEW HERE, BUT ID LIKE TO DEFINETLY JOIN UP, ALWAYS FUN MAKING SOME NEW FRIENDS, I GOT A STOCK SUSPENSION SO HOPEFULLY NOTHING TO CRAZY AN I HOPE U GUYS ARE OK WITH DOGS JUST POST WHEN AND WHERE AND ILL TRY TO BE THERE.

I don't have an issue with dogs coming along and might bring my new puppy.(if I am in my truck) This run is an easy to moderate run and when most runs are posted they should let you know level and also if you need any special equipment.

Wow Michael does seem like a lot of work. Hopefully you can finish it on time, but knowing you.....you probably will finish.
 
Final Meet Info - 9AM 18 JUNE

Okay, looks like the best meet spot is the San Gorgonio Ranger Station at the base of the 38. Everyone participating in this huge event should be at the station no later than 9AM so we can finish by early afternoon. Bring your family along, it should be very scenic and fun. Bring recovery gear if you have it, handheld walkie talkies or CB radio, and it never hurts to pack a lunch.

I put together a little map on google that is pretty close to the route Pikeman will be leading us on.

well im game for this run. i have missed quite a few due to lack of funds. I am hoping to get some tires and rims this week but not sure if i need to do anything before hand. either way, low tread or not, i'll be there. coming from long beach/cal state area if anyone wants to meet up along the way and caravan out.

Hey man we should caravan to the meet. I'm not too far from you, I live in Bellflower.
 
Im in for that meet spot, looking forward to hanging with my fellow 4runner brothers and sisters. Dang man we are gonna need name tags!
