Looks like I will also be rolling up that way I will be leaving Buena Park and taking the 91 out to the 10. CB on 13. 810moto you should still have my # if you guys are going this way let me know when you are getting close to beach and the 91 I can jump on and run out with you all.

Toytruck This may work for you as well.

^I might be in Corona on that Friday so I may leave from there. If not, I'll shoot you a text driffter, I still have your number in my phone.

1st note:
So I have done some searching and I THINK I have found the actuall address of the ranger station. the map on google shows this address.

34701 Mill Creek Road
Mentone, CA 92359-9761

if this is wrong, someone please correct it. Just easier to pop in an address to the gps and go straight there vs hoping we all find each other.

What is everyones starting point?

I am heading out from Huntington Beach, but it won't be as early as 6:30. It only takes a little over an hour to get there...

Can anyone else confirm if the above point is about where the ranger station is? For some reason I can't picture it. I typed in ranger station on my iPhone and got the same point as above.

2nd note:
Those running a CB the channel noted in a post somewhere on here says CH13 so that is what I will be tuned to all the way up.

I will be leaving my house at about 6:30 and probably meeting up with Donny down the street. Those around the area of Long Beach, Seal Beach, Lakewood, Bellflower, Cerritos, Cypress and others close by, lets all try to meet somewhere on the Hwy while mobile and head on out.

6:30? Wow. That is a bit too early. Isn't it? Moto. I am right at 22W and 405N. (Cypress, West Garden Grove area). We can caravan together.

I'll PM you my number.

34701 Mill Creek Rd. (a.k.a Hwy 38) Mentone CA is the correct address. It is just East of Bryant Ave.

I am still hopefull to have my runner together in time for the run. Got all the parts now(or so I hope) and just need to be busy everynight this week putting them on afterwork. Will lay all the parts out and take a picture tonight so can see what all I am facing. My biggest concern is the Pressure line going into the old steering rack doesnt want to come out and can't afford to replace it if I damage it right now. If that happens then I will definitely have to ride with someone.

My steering rack lines were a.PITA. I ended up letting the rack hang on the hose and spun the rack off of the hose fitting. If that makes any since. the new one went back on the same way.

somebody should start a new thread with the details for this weekend, since this thread is umpteen pages of mush. maybe the thread can be titled: SoCal June 18th, 2011 Meetup

Progress is made on the rebuild. Only thing still hanging me up from finishing is the old power steering pressure line still wont come off.

Can't wait till next month's event..

That was good fun, many thanks to the organizers.

Quick question for you experienced guys. I drove the trail in 2WD, is it better to engage 4WD before you need it or only as you lose grip then revert back to 2WD?

Second question, on some of the tight corners can you engage 4WD thru the corner? I thought I read that it is not good to do so?

Looks like my next step is to shed the stock rubber and get some proper rubber.
