SoCal Wheelin Day Sat./Sun June 12th or 13th

Who wants to go wheeling in SoCal this Sat. or Sun June 12th or 13th????? I'm pretty much down to go wheel anywhere around SoCal, but where we go really depends on who wants to go and how built up their rigs are.

I don't want to just run fire roads so this will be a 4x4 only event. If everyone that wants to go has a rear locker then we can look to the more difficult trails but it's not mandatory. We can still find lots of fun trails that only require 4x4/open diffs.

So.....
Who wants to hit the dirt??

I'm down for Sunday. Anywhere is good for me. Got my sliders mounted so I'm a little more protected than before. I'll keep checking back.

Sunday sounds good to me. I'm looking forward to seeing your rig again, now with the new body lift! I have sliders too BTW. Any thoughts on where? I'm down to do Dishpan or something, but everyone going will need sliders for that trail or accept that rocker panel damage could happen. I'm going to send a PM to twitchee2 and Pure 98 because they were wanting to go.

I'm down. Coming from San Diego. Completely stock minus sidesteps. Most likely will be my last stock run before getting new tires/rims/lift.

Well, let's make it official (at least the day):
Sunday, June 13th 2010

I'll start a list, just copy and paste your name:
1) Brian2sun (put your first name down too - mine is obvious)
2)

Now... Where to go? Dishpan probably won't be a good choice because jsmithjr732's runner has no sliders and that trail is no joke. We could just meet up here in Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear and choose a trail (lots of options and I'm down to be trail leader because I live here and know the area well). what do you guys think?

I'll let you guys know ASAP if i could make it, and i'm down for any trail.

33's, lifted & locked. NO rock rails :(

I'm planning to go camping somewhere close with my daughter the night before. Then meet you guys up there.

Brian--any suggestions? May bring Guinness, so dog-friendly may be needed.

You guys mind if I tag along for awhile? I'll have my girls again so I may have to bail out early:zoom:.Btw Im not locked just 4wd

If you want to come up to Arrowhead, North Shore Campground near the hospital is nice. Then we can meet up if you want in the morning before we go to the meeting spot.

THE PLAN (so far):
I'm thinking we could do the "Miller Canyon Loop" on sunday and then head over to the trials behind Arrowhead afterwards if we are still wanting more. The trail head for Miller Canyon is right off Hwy 138. If we do that, you guys would want to get off the 15N at 138 and turn R (heading towards the mtns on the right side). You should fill up with gas at that intersection (this is where we met for the last Pilot Rock run). After you turn right on 138, the trail head is up the road (toward Crestline) about 10-15 miles on the left hand side.

If you guys like this plan, the meeting place would then be the Miller Canyon trial head off the 138. Some of you guys might want to meet at the gas station at the intersection first and then go to the trail head. I'm going to say 10:30AM at the trail head if that works for everyone.

Here's a pdf download of the main trails in the area for you guys:

The Miller Canyon Loop is an easy-moderate trail with several more difficult off shoots which are optional and they tie back into the main road. That trail will be about a 2 hour run then we can head towards Deep Creek (behind Arrowhead). I'm thinking about doing Dishpan afterwards still, so those of you with sliders and locker(s) can come with, the rest can follow us up to Dishpan and break away and leave at that point.

I was planning on camping with my girls the night before too, so I'll probably take brian's recommendation above on the camp site. If you do also, look for a white 4runner(of course) with an appalachian trail sticker on the back (and other stickers too, but the AT sticker is up higher).

Sounds good to me. This plan gives everyone options on difficulty and places to bail. When I make it to the campground you recommended tomorrow, I'll give you a shout....
