Truck looks great! To bad I didn't get to see the sliders in person. Glad to hear you got the exhaust bolted on without difficulties. I made it through the day without any crashes and was running high 1.50's, pretty good for my first time. Take it easy bro, pleasure doing business with you!

Thanks again for the exhaust. Glad to hear that your track day went well. I imagine there isn't a lot of room for a bad day. Hopefully we can meet up again on a trail and you can see the sliders in person.
 
Great looking truck with some nice parts!!!

I also have a 97 and looking to put some 285/75/16 tires also KM2 or M/T R Kevlar. How what size spacer do you figure I would need if I used my 6 spoke rims? Or if I got the same LC wheels would they clear and how much trimming/hammering did you need to do to the wheel well to clear the tires?

Thanks, I like my truck too.

I am not using any spacers but I think most that do run a 1 or 1.5 inch spacer. The LC wheels stick out just a little farther than stock 4runner wheels do. I also shaved my UCA so they wouldn't rub before I got the LC wheels. As far as hammering I didn't have to but I have an aftermarket bumper. It will be obvious real quick once you drive/wheel it a little where you need to hammer.
 
SoCal, great looking rig. I especially love the pic of when you have it lifted with the new km2s without any armor. Just something about a stock lifted 4runner with 285s is awesome.

How much was the borla catback you purchased a while back? I am thinking about getting a new exhaust but having a v6 I do not want a raspy sounding exhaust. You should post a sound video if you have time.

There is something about a lifted rig that still looks stock, kinda how it should have looked from Toyota. That being said I like my Outdoor Logic bumper and sliders.

I bought the exhaust from another member here and I can't remember what I paid. It is a subtle difference from stock noise wise. I had a few leaks in my exhaust and this was the easiest way to deal with it.
 
Well gents I sold it this afternoon. I already miss it but I know I will get to build another one someday in the future. Hopefully not too far but most likely a couple years.

I know this is a rehash of an old thread but I wanted to let you know it’s still going. I bought this truck up in big bear a little over two years ago with grenaded gears and severe rod knock. Had to do some fixing and changed a few things (one I will be hated for) but it’s going strong. I daily it but it’s currently getting an Eim Keith tank kit and rear bumper. It’s now e-locked, winch, tc uppers, I Heaviky modified the lowers, Scs f5s, and on Kings. As well as various other convince modifications. Was looking for a place to update on this thing and figured you might like to know.

Don’t want to hijack SoCal’s thread once I figure out how to start a build thread I’ll get more out there.

It’s some work but fitment has been beautiful. I’ve only made a couple of modifications for personal preference and convenience of installation while still having to daily it.
