Soft Brakes

I have a 99 Limited and my brakes seem to be softer than normal. The pedel goes 2-3" to stop, and than once at a stop the pedel will go all the way to the floor with minimal effort.

I now have 146k. I have had since 75k and the brake fluid has never been flushed and replaced.

I found someone that would do it for $50. Would this be the best place to start? the pads have been replaced several times and never bleed or replaced the fluid.

If the pedal is going to the floor then flushing the brake fluid won't fix it. It's probably a bad master cylinder. I would not drive it that way. You will be replacing the fluid when you replace the master cylinder.

so i just did the back up and pull the e-brake process. It seems to have tightened up the pedal quite a bit.

I am still going to do the fluid flush since it has never been done.
