so what....this is a 4 runner forum..........

well guess where the money is going

springs ( stock), shocks (kyb), air bags, energy suspension rack bushings, es front sway bar bushings ( have some cracking ones) yota lbj's, Tundra brake upgrade, cheap ass cargo rack till I find the right one for next summer, a new stereo head unit and a set of stock wheels ( already found them, on hold) to mount some studded tires on for the winter, I drive on lots of ice, , some more LED's, and a new tent

feels like Christmas ordering and getting all the parts, might be a bit before I get them all put in, but getting them before the money goes elsewhere

of course I could pay down some bills.....but that's too sensible to do

yehaaa

sweet! get that crap corolla out of here. those 1.8 motors are junk.

ask me- i know

depends on how maintained and abuse they get.

this one has 250k on it, never been apart other than timing belts and waterpumps. tuneups and stuff, head never off, tranny never apart, sitting on its original suspension still except rear struts ( its a wagon)
my youngest sons has almost 280 k on his
both getting over 30mpg

Nice sell the little car for 4runner money. I did almost the same thing, sold my 98 civic with ls vtec swap, ihe and hondata tuned 161whp to help pay some bills and up money i to my 4runner. Want can i say i got the 4runner and lost interest in little 4 banger tuner cars. Lifted and wheeling ftw. I will get another mk3 Supra some day as a tuner toy. For the money you will spend on new stock springs and kyd shocks you can do an OME lift kit.

Wrong!

I got 1.6 L 92 4afe engine....toyota sprinter (in the USA it is called Geo Prizm)
This is my dd and never..... never a problem. Still factory AC and is ice cold....
250K miles same original engine, transmission, ball joints, steering rack. I would trust this car than my 4runner!

I'm really thinking of doing a b18 swap on a very old civic. New age hotrod. All n/a

I don't do any serious off road, just logging roads and forest service roads
and if I lift it anymore than it is, and add a basket on top, I will have more difficulty putting kayaks and canoes solo on top ( Im 5'10 and 63 years old)
also when I researched OME systems, the cheapest I found was about 833 and I don't remember if that included shipping. I can do KYB's on all corners and Toyota springs for just under 600 shipped
I was gonna add air bags because at times I pull a small trailer with quads on it, or when I get to old to tent camp, get and pull something like an a-liner. I only put about 12k a year on my rig, so if the stock system lasted 150k, chances are the next somewhat stock suspension will outlast me
as it is now, it sits as high as my chevy 4wd truck

but maybe Id lift it if I was 10 years younger

The 98+ are known to have serious oil consumption issues. Not all, but my mechanic says that many he sees do.
mine was a 95, my sons a 96, before the issues happened with a different head and getting rid of timing belt for a chain that would fail

see, I ride on mellow back roads

I liked my wife's previous Corolla (RIP), except that it was red. Good gas mileage for a little car. It's no powerhouse though, but then again it is a corolla we are talking about!
