Solid start

What do I have to do to get my yota to start like it was brand new? Its got 211k miles on it, is it even posible at this piont? Would I just have to replace the starter, coil packs and wires?

I have a new battery, new plugs, and a new fuel filter. I have never had it not start for me but I used to have a Ram w/ 5.2L 318 and that thing would just crank right up (the only thing that truck did well).

I read about the nipon denso parts in the starter but the problem that those guys were having was they would turn the key and nothing would happen. But thats not my issue.

Maybe someone has had a similar case and knows just what to do so I thought I'd ask.

My 1999 does the exact same thing. I'm not to worried about it because it runs flawlessly once started,

biggest thing i see overlooked on older vehicles is the wiring .... how are the battery terminals and cables?

Now that you mention it, I think I remember the hot wire to the starter looking a bit corouded (spelling?)

That should be a cheap fix and well worth it if it works.

My 97 was struggling at times to start recently- The one day....No crank at all. I went and picked up a starter from toyota dealer and did a tune up (not that difficult) as well. Now, it seriously cranks like a new truck again.

its next on my list of preventive measures ... i picked up some new battery terminals, and i always have some 4 gauge wire around, so just need to spend the time to do it.
