Howdy Gang.

Just in case someone didn't know... people are freaking jerks!!

Take a look at what I found in front of my house at 7:30 this morning!!

Some freaking TURKEY swiped the side of my ride between 1:30am, when I got home last night, and 7:30 this morning when I was leaving for work.

No note, just the freaking side-view mirror!! AND... can you believe that some idiot would actually rip the mirror off his car and just leave it sitting my the lense of my tail light!!! JESUS!!!

I really don't know what is with people!!

Needless to say I'm a little PISSED!! Called the cops and my insurance already, but seriously, what a freaking hassel!!!

If you guys (and I'm not excluding any female member of T4R.org with that generality) can all take a look at the pics and give me some feedback/guesses on what type of car that mirror may belong to, please let me know. Obviously I want to find the guy or girl who did this and make them pay for my repairs!!!

That sucks man. I know when I lived in Northern VA., there were/are a lot of careless and selfish drivers. Just keep your eyes open for a vehicle missing one of it's mirrors, look, you will find it. Good luck!

ha, goodluck as there are probably a bunch of jerkoffs driving around that way!

Christian - dude, that blows in a major way man!!!!!!!!! Maybe a neighbor saw something and you catch that low life.
 
Believe me... I'm looking at ALL the cars I see on the road!!! I drove around my neighborhood for 30 mins looking at all the cars in driveways, sidestreets, etc... just trying to find the dumb a$$hole!!!

I'd drive around....look for a car w/o its driver's side mirror....I'm also guessing that the culprit may return to the seen of the crime....get that video camera out and catch that punkazz!

Yea man... it blows! I'm going to ask around this evening when I get home from work. Who knows, maybe someone saw something...

But yea, everyone is right, there are a ton of inconsiderate a$$holes around here and I guess it was just my turn to be subjected to it.

Crappy!!
 
Are there part numbers on or in the mirror?
That could help identify the car. Then DMV for records of that make and color.

Thanks for the suggestion!! I looked at the mirror when I first pulled it off and didn't really see any numbers on it. Now, unfortunately, the police have collected the parts as "evidence" so I can't go and double check.

Since I'm pretty sure they won't really follow up on this, I may try to take another peek at the "evidence" and see if there is a part number or something.
 
Yup, it is the passenger side mirror. The whole freaking assembly was stuck there!!

I think a couple of the pics show it pretty good and that's why I'd like to try and figure out what make/model the car was that hit me!!

I really could use everyone's help/ideas/suggestions.
 
Sorry to see that. Hope your 4Runner gets repaired soon and is as good as new. If I had to guess, the mirror looks like it is from a Corolla or Civic. It is more than likely it is from a small compact car becuase it can't be folded in. The thing that is bugging me is I wonder if this was really an accident because the @&#*$ person wouldn't have a left thier mirror hanging out of your taillight. I am just wondering, do any of your neighbors have security cameras? Maybe there is an apartment building or business around you that has cameras facing your house? I hate people who do thing like this. :bash:

hopefully they'll ask around at area body shops if there have been any requests to repair a missing side view mirror.

in any event, sorry to hear about this. i'd probably go on a rampage if it were my truck :(
 
Yeah, The mirror does not fold in. The car looks like a newer car. It's hard to guess what car that came off of. But the color looks like a Import color. So maybe a nissan, toyota.....

the matrix has a protruding style line across it...but it's a toyota mirror for sure. it appears to be a last generation toyota camry mirror.

find a last generation camry and hold the mirror next to it...i bet it's a match.
