Hi folks. Can anyone tell me what my '94 4-runner with a 3.0 weighs? How does that compare to a similar vehicle today? I'm also getting 12.75 m.pg. hiway, dirt roads, and in between. Is that to be expected?

I would imagine stats are easily googleable.. In fact, that is all I did. Looks like curb weight (total weight, without load and passengers) is 3800 pounds.
As for MPG. I believe I got on my 3.0 3vze around 13-15 mpg.
This is a 20 year old truck. You lose MPG as a vehicle ages, through all kinds of stuff. I don't think it is that horrid, for the age. But.. I sold mine in part due to the horrid fuel economy. Newer vehicles get much better gas miagle. My 2005 v8 is getting 17-19mpg on the highway and it puts out almost 2 the total power.
Also.. You can't aggregate your mileage like that. In CITY mileage is usually far lower than freeway. I would imagine you are probably getting 10-12 in the city, start stop, and around 15 or 16 on the freeway. Since your have simply given an aggragte, you can't see that.

Buying a new vehicle just because of the savings in gas mileage doesn't make sense to me. If you bought another 4-runner, it seems stupid. However, that all depends in how much mileage you put in and how much cash you have to waste. Furthermore knowing the phrase "curb weight" certainly does make a google search easier. However, I found posting a message on a board where there are so many idle rich was even easier.

It may seem stupid if mileage is the only reason. Maybe he wanted something newer and more reliable? I'm not attacking you with this, just pointing out another point of view.

I don't know if you know what idle rich means, or why on earth you think it applies to anybody here, but I'm going to assume that you think you're insulting DC runner, who was trying to help you. Asking noob questions that can be easily googled is kinda lame, and likely to draw some snark, but insulting the guy trying to help you pretty much makes you a jackass.

Also. I sold my 3.0 because it had almost 300k. Lost a main engine bearing and decided to spend the several K I would on a rebuild or new engine and put that into a newer truck, with better MPG.
I loved that runner. I consider the 1st and 2nd gen 4runners to be some of the sexiest 4x4's ever built.
But I did need something newer.
And your truck could be running rich. I would imagine your o2 sensor would pop on that, or at least some engine code.
