Does it look like this? Because this is normal and PREVENTS attacks from happening on the website...

Yeah, for about a year or so now.
It can seem a PITA sometimes, but it's there for a reason.

for me I Can be on the page for maybe 15 seconds and it takes me to a site saying URI TO LARGE.
In the weeks (months?) leading up to the Cloudflare check being added, this site was VERY NOTICEABLY slow and not responsive...
I would guess this site had been getting hammered by everyone and their mom aggressively trying to scrape the ENTIRE INTERNET to gather data to use themselves, or sell on too other folks training AI models.
This site has been much more responsive since implementing the Cloudflare check

A popup is not a sign of attempts to hack this site; most indicators would not be visible to non-admin users. If you are getting popups, it is likely an indication of potential adware/malware on your computer, often from a bad download, and commonly done to facilitate antivirus/recovery service scams.
Recently, the site "trail4runner[.]com" was hacked because Wordpress sucks and the attacker was serving a malicious javascript that pretending to be a 2FA prompt that would have the visitor download a file which then reached out to a malicious server and brought in more malware in attempts to steal a lot of user data from the local machine. I don't see any signs of malicious activity here, but always be careful of what you click and where you give your info.
As for the cloudflare "verify you are human by completing the action below" checkbox, it's annoying but useful to cut down on bot activity.

Can you duplicate the issue and share with me what site you're seeing?
