What has happened to this 4runner forum?

I try reading a thread and first i get this message it's "verifying something" then when i do get to start reading i get this poping up screen saying ( get this screen poping up (414 Request-URI Too Large)
There is something wrong going on with this 4runner forum and it needs to get fixed ASAP.
There is another 4runner forum (4runners.com) that many have moved to, i would hate to leave this 4runner forum but if i can't just read it well....

Seems it’s a computer problem because i can post on my iPad without this problem but on two different computers i get this problem.
But its still a 4Runner forum problem and must get fixed.

I'd agree its an issue with your machine. I've been using the site most of the day trying to up my post count so I can post an issue I'm having and no issues on my end.

I will just use my iPad to read this forum.
I like everyone on this forum but am finding it much simpler to use toyotanation.com and 4Runner.com
With no re-verification happening over and over.

Ralph, I'm not sure why you started another thread about this.. It was explained in your other thread that the "verifying you are human.." check is from Cloudflare, which is a very widely used service for cutting down on bad traffic to websites. This has been the norm on this site ever since last year's slow down/outside attacks. Keep in mind, if something is connected to the internet, it WILL be scanned and attempted to login/exploit/etc by bots or sometimes people. That's the reality of internet connected devices. Also, if someone was hacking into a website, they would not randomly notify the users with something like a banner, for instance.

I've visited this site multiple times a week for a few years now and never see the errors you and the other poster have mentioned, using at least 3 different browsers on 2 devices as well. I personally prefer Firefox and the uBlock Origin add-on, which is a content blocker and allows for all sorts of customization. If you're using Windows, I suggest you make sure it's all up to date and run a full scan with Defender to start. Ultimately there are quite a few variables in these situations but I will try to help where possible!

I was having the same problem this morning from my PC. I'm using Chrome. Decided to pull it up on my phone and I'm having no issues.

Other than the neat new mini game "close all the ads as fast as you can without clicking in the wrong place". So far I'm losing that game.

I use DuckDuckGo or MS Edge and MalwareBytes Premium on 3 different laptops. No issues.

new user here.... old head forum user... this forum continually comes up when i try to search for a 4runner issue, but it's plagued with drop down ads when you scroll and spam pop ups that continually pop up and block what I am trying to read. It's very frustrating even with using pop-up blocker add-ons. it's not my PC as i don't have this issue on any other web forum, it's specifically this page.

I don't know what browser and pop-up blocker you use, but I don't see any of that.

I use uBlock Origin extension/add-on in my Thorium (Chromium fork) and in Waterfox (Firefox fork). And in both browsers I don't see any of that.

Try another Ad Blocker, apparently the one you're using sucks, I have a free blocker and see nothing but the forum.

There are lots of worthwhile options that actually do work, instead of whatever the others are using that obviously don't work.

Idk! On my phone and iPad I don't even bother. But with AdBlock installed on my Chrome browser, everything works fine. (Looking at it, as soon as I got to this page, it shows 56 ads blocked in like 5 minutes)

As far as member activity and engagement, idk about the scientific numbers and such but a lot of people started using Instagram and other social media outlets over .org forums it seems, especially after 2013-2014 I wanna say.
