I have 93 v6, A couple of weeks ago we got some snow and I drove my vehicle and it cut off on me. I cranked it and it started right up I drove a little further and came to a stop light and it quit again. Again I crank it and it starts and drives, but this time I hear some rattling and shaking. I continue driving about 10 miles to my house and I cut it off. I get a couple mechanics to come by and look at it and one person tells me that my idler pulley bracket broke and another tells me that it is the water pump. They both tell me that in order to get to these parts they would encounter the timing belt and that this would be a problem for them to work on. I guess they don't have the knowledge or experience. So I get a family member and he replaces them both and sets the timing gears to the proper marks that the toyota manual suggested. I understand that this is a very sensitive repair and it appeared to me that he set the gears precisely on the marks. He put it back together and it would not start. I need some suggestions or advice please!!! Everyone I talk to act like this is the ultimate end to my vehicle, please, please, please help!!!!
