Something different Toyota 4runner 1kz-te 2005

well my name is Javier Jordan, i'm from Panama city, Panama. I have a toyota 4runner 4th gen 2005, but with a little different from yours, mine is 3.0 diesel turbo charged intercooler 1kz-te. She has 127000km with any issue until now.
Also she have 20" konig with maxxis victra 275/55 and a little sound system.

it was my moms car and she gave it to me. It is a little expensive to bring suspension parts to panama so daystar or revtek are not an option and i dont do off roading all the time so i was considering this options In Panama that there are two dealers OME and ironman, wich Ironman suspensions are cheaper and almoust with the same quality as OME. So if you can tell me which one to use?

I will change those wheels but i dont know what rims size run. i am not sure about if 17" or 16", so if you can tell me what would be better it could be perfect.


My other question is: what i really need to run 33s tires on 16" or the same on 17". I really need to know because we dont have the same aftermarket that you have there in the US, and I need to buy the parts. Sorry for this question because i know there is a lot of info on the forum but i dont find exactly what i need.

Welcome, It almost looks like you have a lift in the rear already.

Not sure about the ironman, but, someone will eventually post up. Everything on yours should be able to modify like our gas models except the motor section.
EDIT- You should be able to do the 33"on 17" or your 20". Just need to do the lift and some other items to fit without the rub issues. Search is your friend and if not sure after that feel free to ask what you don't understand.

No, I dont have any lift, I wish to have one jajajaja. The suspension parts are the same, also I think the transmission is the same.
 
Probably just the angle your ride is sitting on the ground. Just do some searches, there are easy ways to do these things from others posting.

Welcome to the forum Javier! Great to see a diesel toy on here!

From what I've seen I think only one member [MENTION=80695]Adventure Copan[/MENTION] runs the ironman lift. I think it may be kind of new to the market.

There are a lot of members running OME, but I'm not saying OME is better just older/more popular.

edit- you may want to measure your brake rotors, some limiteds have oversized rotors (like the sport editions do) and can't fit under 17" rims

the rims look like 16'' ...strange seeing that kind of rim/tyre on a 4runner....has the fat look of the 20''

Are you sure you have the 1kz-te and not the 1kd-ftv? The 1kz-te was produced only until 2004. I know the 1kz-te was strictly latin america but the 1kd-ftv was also for central/south america.

Just curious that is all.

The 1kd-ftv is the new common rail diesel engine, it comes with the fourtuner and with the new hilux vigo since 2005. The 1kd-ftv is 3.0 turbo intercooler is super fast and with a lot of power, the best thing is the mpg is awesome.

My father has an 2kd-ftv is a 2.5 common rail diesel engine turbo charged. The mpg is more awesome, when he filled up the thank the range is between 700-800km per tank really really awesome.

In panama we have two options in hilux vigo engines thats why the 1kd-ftv and the 2kd-ftv. This engines are having problems with the injectors because of the dirty diesel that we use in Panama. The injectors about 100000km-200000km get damaged. This is the only doubt of this engine they are not as hard or neither the same durability as the 1kz-te.

The 1kz-te is on the land cruiser prado 120 until 2009 when they changed the model as they changed the model of the 4r. it came with the 4r until 2005, when they stopped bringin the 4runner to panama. The 1kz-te is the old school diesel engine jajaja. I have a friend that have 350000km on his prado 120 with 1kz-te 2003 and never had an issue with this engine.

you can run 33s on the 20 inch wheels you have now, but you will need to space it out or else itll rub, i have 32s on my 22s and they rub sometime on full lock to lock turning. im sure a mild lift and some wheel spacer might help. im on stock suspension sport edition.
 
After some time I had done some mods to the 4runner. Spacer lift kit in front 3" and in the rear fj coils with 1.25 spacers. Front grill and hood scoop with plasti dip.

Just bough used Engine for my other Truck. I was not able to find any info please let me know what you think.

This after inspection I have just noticed two hoes that are weirdly connected (definitely not from OEM setup , I have also attached picture of what 1KZ-TE looks like googling or checking online posts.. Red is what i have Green is what it should look like.

What did they do to this Intercooler ? is it even "Intercooler" hones or something else.

From what I see in your photos, whoever installed the engine either had a leak in the intercooler and by-passed the intercooler...or they simply didn't know what they were doing!!
