Something fell in my radiator

We'll I was checking my coolant the yesterday and went to open the radiator cap and apparently it hadn't been opened in a long long time because it was completely broken down and just came apart. I was able to get almost all of it out but a few small pieces fell in. I'm thinking I probably need to pull the radiator and try and get those pieces out but I'm also pretty sure that they will get suck I'm the fins or something and I won't be able to ge them out.

Would u guys worry about it? I didn't drop the spring or anything in there probably just a small piece of that brittle plastic and maybe that small screw that retains the spring usually if there is one (the metal screw is the main part that worries me). Is there a filter or screen or anything that will catch it so I don't have to worry about it getting sucked into the water pump and ruining it? Or I'm I just going to have to try and find a way to get them out?

Well, if the engine hasn't been run...I would try removing the lower radiator hose to flush it out...I would try to capture the fluid to see if any debris comes out...if it doesn't, I would run water to the filler neck from a garden hose to see if will wash out.

If it is something metallic, not good for your pump...but any debris is not good as it could block a water passage and create a 'hot spot'.

If you think the debris entered your engine...you might try a flushing kit and back flush the cooling system...

Yea I haven't run it just because I didn't want to mess with trying to flush the engine. I'm going to pull the radiator hoses and try to flush it out. I'm just hoping that something will come out, I have a feeling that I'll flush and it will just be wedged in there somewhere.
