Something wrong

So, I was hanging out with friends last night and they decided to play with my 4runner while I was in the store. They seemed to have push the 4wd button and maybe jerked the stick. When I come back the I have the five lights flashing where it shows 4 wheel drive being used. BTW I took out the keys while they were in it.

I tried to get it back to normal but it doesn't seem to stop flashing/go back to 2 wheel.

Anyone know how to fix? It's a 2002 4 Runner SR5 model.

sometimes, if you move your car a bit, it will go away.

remove the battery cables overnight to reset the ECU...

don't need em off that long...half hour is enough in my experience. just make sure all the buttons are disengaged (the center lock button and over drive as well) and the stick is seated right, and drive it a bit...sometimes you gotta get it around 40-45 mph then back down again to get it out....i have same truck.
