Sonoran Steel 1.2 lift finally installed!!!

I just wanted to update everyone on my Runner. I'm sorry that I haven't posted pics yet! I've been working alot of overtime lately and have been busy doing alot of chores around the house! After alot of debating, I finally decided on trading my 285's for some 265/75R16 Nitto Terra Grapplers. I can't dish out the extra cash right now for rims and flares because I have other priorities to take care of. Maybe next year I will upgrade but right now this seems like the right thing to do! I plan on keeping this rig for a while, so it will be a work in progress! As soon as I get a chance, I will post pics. I hope I made a good tire choice!!!!:shrug:

Yeah! No loss of power will be an added bonus. I hope the tires will at least give me another 3/4" to 1" of added ground clearance over my worn P265/70R16s.

I measured mine right under 30"! Plus the tires I have now are 4ply and I'm upgrading to a D range 8ply.

Great write-up, Brian. I think may be in the #1 camp. I like the wider stance of the 285s and can't get 255s in the tire I want. Didn't want spacers, but I can live with them for just the fronts.

Or, would aftermarket UCAs resolve?

Thanks! I really like the lift so far! I decided on trading my 285s for 265s for several reasons. They would rub on the a-arms slightly at full lock with stock rims but that could be fixed with spacers. The problem is in PA it's illegal to run spacers over 1/4". I could've bought new wheels with a different backspacing but that would put my tire out past my fender trim. In order for it to pass inspection, I would need the tread to be covered with fender flares. I don't have the extra cash right now for wheels and flares, so I decided to run the 265s for now. Eventually when I have extra cash I plan on upgrading.:bluejump:
