I use a large bolt on the upper mount. I don't keep my Hi-Lift mounted 24/7 so I don't see a need for a lock.

I think the CBI and SSO use large wingnuts and grade 8 bolts.
If you need to lock them you can get locking handles. Which is sadly required if you live in an urban location.

Sadly I live in Chicago. Soooo locking handles, motion detectors, cameras ( both infrared and night vision), armed guard, DNA, iris scanner, and really angry beavers will also be required.

New jerry can cover arrived today. Fits over my Wavian cans. Looks good, but it is more visually secure then actually secure. Bolt on extensions...Guess i can use locktite red to secure those better. However, the little "tabs" that slide in bottom front can just be pushed in then the whole top can be lifted up. I think i will put some rubber bumpers on inside back holder to push the cans tight against front of holder. This should prevent the tabs from be pushed out of slots.

I bit the bullet and did it yesterday morning.
For those who are unsure, use the Parking light wires from the taillight. They are the one that illuminate red. There are 6 wires that come off of it. It's the white wire with brown strip and the green wire.
Scary, but easy. And for the reverse, I used the yellow wire from the trailer hitch wiring.

The rubber seals work better than the originals, and is a good fix for the assembly issue with the swing arms. The tab extension for the jerry can holder/refused cover is a joke. The holder Itself needs to be revised. Further more just having the bumper in the rain, no salting of roads yet, and the bumper is rusting around the welds. I'm not happy with the powder coat job.

That sounds like a great fix. The new Jerry Can holder was designed to accommodate the largest Scepter can, so with other brands customer modifications may be necessary.

I wouldn't give that weld an A grade either. Makes me really nervous to see that rust so early. I hope they do a proper job on my bumper. I skipped the jerry can holder thankfully. Still excited beyond measure but.... make sure your outsourcing doesn't mess up your product.

My welds are rusting too. I called and was told they were aware that the powder coating was thin in some areas. They were happy to help me find a local guy to re-coat, but really don't want the hassle. Anything to be worried about? Thanks

I might try wire brushing the rust off and hit it with a coat or 2 of black Rustoleum just to see if that helps. It's a shame the quality of various powder coating companies can vary so badly. I really think a lot of it has to do with the prep work, and some companies just don't pay enough attention to pre-cleaning the metal before coating it.
