Space below AC controls?

What is behind that mysterious storage pocket? Is there enough room to install equaliser or hard drive mp3? Any ideas? If any one taken that plastic cover behind the pocket out, what is the fit like there? Can usefull stuff be instaled in it? I know GX470 doesnt have much there either, just few buttons...

From what I remember when I had my dash apart (to fit a new headunit) there is some space but not a lot. Most of the air is behind the AC controls and that's where I stashed my PIE adapter.

Yup, same here. There is some space, but not a whole lot..
