Spacer Lifts Settle?

I've been thinking about this and it's a hard one. I see the following factors entering in:
1) Age/mileage at lift install. All vehicles 'settle' a bit within the 1st few thousand miles and then again as the springs near the end of thier life.
2) How is it spaced? If the spacers change the preload then maybe some very minor settling would occur.
3) What are the spacers made of? Does the material compress?
Given equal service I can't imagine a spacer lifted truck settling significantly more than a non-spacer lifted truck unless the spacers compressed. Another factor is you're in a cool place with big tires and using it off-road. Your springs work harder than mine and cycle up & down significantly more... If I had a 3/2 and cool tires I might drive differently. I might use my T4R a little harder. I guess the question is does a 3/2 mall crawler settle the same as someone who actually uses thier T4R. That's just my 2cents.

Spacer lifts are just solid aluminum so they will not settle. But all springs will sag or settle a bit over time. So to say the lift will settle is incorrect, but the springs will eventually lose some of their height whether or not a spacer is used.
If you got 2" of lift from a spacer and a year or two later you measure it again and only get 1.75" then the cause is spring sag, not the spacer lift.
