Spacer ???

I want to put a 2" spacer in the back to help out on my rear sag situation, I really don't offroad hard, just going snowboarding and mountain bikeing. How big of a spacer can I use before I have to go to longer shocks? Does anyone want to sell some ole spacers ya got laying around...I know you tried it before you wanted some Real flex...lol Thanks guys, this is my first real post.

I would suggest getting a couple new OME coils for the rear, it will be better for the ride and for holding added weight.
 
I agree with rtgt4r, if you have that much sag, your springs are shot and you're better off just getting some new coils. You will have a horrible ride quality with spacers on top of worn out coils. If you want to level it back out, you may just want to go with stock springs (or maybe the 1" higher stock '99 coils) because 2" lift coils like the OME 906s will probably sit about 3" higher than you are sitting now and give you a rake (they are intended to lift 1.5-2" above non-saggy springs).

Putting spacers on top of coils sagging that bad would give you a far worse ride than any of the other options.
And if you're taking the spring out to add the spacer anyways, might as well do it right.

Look for stock springs out of a '99, they should do what you want while keeping the truck feeling nice and driving safe.

Agreed. I tried to help out my rear springs with a spacer and it did lift up the vehicle, but it didnt fix the terrible ride. I swapped in a set of OME 906s in the rear and I am quite pleased.
 
I appreciate it, is there anyway that If searching the junk yards, and I do come across the 99' that I can tell if they are the wanted tall 99' springs or the norms?
 
The rear sag isn't real bad, and the ride is ok, thats y I was thinking of just spacer. What ya think?

I still think spacers are going to finish off those saggy coils and kill what ride quality you have left. New coils are about $170/pair. A pair of spacers aren't much less than that new so I personally would not think twice about it. If you want some used 2.5" rear spacers PM me, I have some and would sell them for cheap, but I still recommend new coils for you

See if your 4runner is in the rear spring recall, it is a sticky in the 3rd gen forum, because if so you get a new set of rear springs. The thread is called "About rear sag"

P.S. Nice Cardinal Red, Only year that color was made.

Yeah, I already checked, it was done in 98'. Thanks about the color...I wondered why I didn't see anybody else with this color.
 
Hell yeah, another Charlotte t4r. Yup I live right off park rd. Do you know any trails we can go on around here...without getting arrested.

Picky, picky, picky...but I wonder the same thing about trails around here. If you do think about putting new coils in the rear, I found a place today that says they have a lot of them so you might be able to pick up a set pretty cheap...

Me? If so, the place is called Atlanta Custom Creations in Scottsdale, GA...ACC Toyota Truck & Land Cruiser...

One of the owners there told me today that he has a bunch of LC coils there like the ones I am about to put in the back of my rig...they're really nice guys over there. Super helpful and very knowledgeable...

I didn't get a price from them because I already had mine, but they looked eager to rid themselves of what they have...it's worth looking at if you're shopping....
