Hey all,

Please be patient with us. I am now back as an Admin for a short stint. Remember that NONE of the moderators get paid for this PIA job. I had to step down a while back because of such tedious duties. Trust me, without these moderators, i would have You can spend hours and hours deleting shit on the forum...and return an hour later to find the same crap. In addition, the mods do not get the Admin screen to MASS delete someone's posts. Therefore, they have to do it ONE BY ONE. Trust me, it is a horrible job to do.

Gatorgreg has been on vacation and has also been ill. Remember, ALL OF US have day jobs.

Gatorgreg is looking into upgrading our software...he has to talk to the guy who owns many forums to upgrade the system. So, it is not simply up to Gatorgreg alone to upgrade this forum. Trust me, both of us have been trying to upgrade this forum version many years now.

Therefore, please be patient with us. Hopefully, this forum will be clean from now on. We will actively hunt down the spammers...hopefully before they even post. However, there will be a few that slip by...so, please just REPORT IT...DO NOT POST IN IT, no matter how tempting it is! :)

yeah, but we are a democratic bunch...so, i can only bring up his name and the rest of the mods and admins vote on it.

Yea, I think it would be an excellent idea to make Iron Clad Lou a moderator and maybe a few other members that have been around a while. You guys do a great job but electing another mod or two would definitely help with the spam.
 
I agree the forum sw should be upgrade asap. I hate spam though you guys are doing a good job fighting 'em with the "hand combat" :)
 
I also want to say that I really appreciate the mods and everyone else whom has the aspiration of being one. I used to be a mod at some other forum back in the day when vbulletin wasn't in business and it could get touchy :)

I'll be honest. I've never once seen a spam thread, porn thread, or anything that looked sketchy at all. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, or the mods are doing a good job, but I haven't seen the spam problem at all. Is there a particular forum they go to specifically?

Also, you can throw my name in the hat to be a mod. I am a student, and only work part time. I might be able to help. Let me know!

On a more serious note, to be a moderator on this forum, we have ONE requirement, which i think is common sense. Yes, you can visit other forums and be active members on those forums...i am on many forums. HOWEVER, a moderator of THIS forum should be active on THIS forum more than competiting 4runner forums. In other words, we prefer that this person be an active contributing member of this forum more than other 4runner forums.

Thai, I didn't think you were a mod any more. How are you still able to view the forum?

What are the other requirments to be a mod?

mike- Your not looking hard enought. There are lots of spam threads. They normally don't last over an hour though. I report all that I see.
