Spare tire carrier

hello,

This is my second post and I am trying to find a place to put my spare tire rather this just laying down in the back. Where are you guys keeping your spare if you have a lift and a larger tire I have 285's.

Second do any of you have a spare tire carrier swing out in the back? If so do you have pictures? I am also running a stock rear bumper, has anyone fabricated a swing out with the rear bumper? Thanks for any help.

Some people have put them on the roof in a basket, while others have gone with a swingout.

With the stock rear bumper, a potential option might be the CBI Fold Down Tire Carrier. If you have the tow hitch, this might be perfect for you, as it simply integrates into that and works very easily.

I've got plenty of pics in my build. I actually moved the bumper back an additional 1.5" so it fit without cramming.

You can always build one like I did?? I've yet to see someone who replicated my design... but after 5+yrs I still love mine! Built it for a fraction of what a full bumper/swing out costs... or even the cost of going with a Hilux Surf conversion....

U so u can only store 285 with their bumper as it provides more space ? When u wheel, do you hit your space tire since its pretty big or no ?

I dont know about him but I hit my stock tire. Yes you can fit a 285 under there but defeats the purpose of a low profile offroad bumper. I will most likely end up putting mine on the roof for now. Dont think will beable to afford a rear bumper with tire carrier anytime in the future.
