Spare tire?

When upsizing from stock how many of you upsize the spare? Mild upsize. 2" lift no cutting. Thinking 265 65 R18 on my OEM limited rims.

Problem is that you really can't fit too much larger than 32" in the factory spare tire location if you're keeping the factory tow hitch assembly; after that it barely fits deflated and it rubs against the panhard under compression.

I would like a full-sized spare (I'm running 33's on my 4Runner and a factory full-sized 31" spare tire), but I just can't fit it under the truck unless it's underinflated; in which case it's useless to me since I don't have onboard air at the moment.

We're look at getting a Hitchgate that will hold an oversized spare and uses the hitch. I don't like the idea of putting one on top because you have to pull it down to get it in the garage. Haven't purchased yet but will probably do so in the next month.

Yeah. Onboard air is on my wish list. And an air down setup. Thanks for the advice. Same boat for me. Want an inflated spare, don't want it on top or inside.

I went with Cooper Discoverer AT3's in 265/70/17 recently and that size fits in the spare location. Not a huge step up from the stock 2665/65/17 though.
